You should browse the bump threads to see the wide range of bumps at different stages! I thought I could see a bump at 14 weeks, friends and family started commenting at 17 weeks, and work colleagues I rarely see felt brave enough to assume and comment on my pregnancy at about 26 weeks ๐Ÿ™‚

This is a refreshing thread – I’m TTC #1 and I want to keep it a secret from everyone as long as possible. I hate attention, I hate forced conversation about every possible parenting decision I’m going to make when my kid arrives, etc., with random people.

It’s just easier to have maybe 15 – 20 weeks of it to endure than basically an entire pregnancy.

This is all great to hear–this is my first pregnancy, but I’m hoping to start a new job at around 12 weeks, so it’s good to know that I won’t necessarily be showing by then, especially if I buy a lot of loose-fitting blazers! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Depends on what you mean by showing.

To people who saw me daily (e.g. coworkers), I didn’t really show until about 20 weeks.

To people we saw about weekly or less (e.g. family members), I showed about 14 weeks in, depending on the outfit. In other words, i could still hide it for the most part.

To total strangers, I showed at 19 weeks.

I’m only 5’3″ and most people have pointed out that I’m all baby with very little gain elsewhere. In fact, because of the bloating, I was wearing maternity jeans at about 10 weeks or so. I think if you’re on the taller side or leaning towards plus sized, it’s not as noticeable early on. I’ve also had petite friends claim they hid their pregnancy until about 6 months in. In other words, it really varies.

I will be 27 weeks tomorrow and didn’t start showing until only a few (2-3) weeks ago.  Usually when I tell people that I am pregnant and they ask how far along I am, they are pretty shocked.  I must hide it well because pre-pregnancy I was a very fit 135lbs and as of last week, I had gained 28lbs–probably 29 by now.  This is my first pregnancy, so thats probably why it took me so long to start showing. But, my baby is bigger than he should be or at least bigger than what I read babies typically weigh at this week, so all is good and healthy ๐Ÿ˜‰

People who knew (and one who didn’t) started commenting around 12 weeks, and I’ve really noticed now at 14 weeks.  I’ve lost a few pounds, and my sister made the really nice comment that losing weight probably made the bump more obvious, and that’s why people noticed so early.  I love my sister ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m still not showing that obviously in most clothes, but in a tight top you can start to tell.

I felt like I started showing early (14 – 15 weeks), but looking back I don’t think I actually started looking pregnant until about 20 weeks. Now, at 31 weeks, I get strangers and coworkers commenting on my pregnancy so I definitely look pregnant. This past weekend, though, the nurse at the walk-in clinic said she couldn’t tell if I was pregnant or bloated. Odd.
