I don’t believe in astrology so I don’t care about “signs.” I am more thinking about seasons (for those of us who live in seasonal climates) and birth stones!
The season I was born in happens to be my favourite (autumn) and I love my birth stone (though I don’t own anything that has it – geez, MrPanda99, get on that).
I am also wondering if you were born near a major holiday (i.e. xmas) did your gifts get all lumped together? Do you care about your birthday or is it just another day?
Mine just passed. I hate birthdays and getting older.

@MrsPanda99: Haha I am a June baby with a purple birthstone. It is actually kind of ugly, and I don’t particularily like it. My birthday has become just another day. I don’t do anything special. I might request my mom make my favorite meal, but I don’t request or want gifts, I don’t go out, nothing like that. Work was appauled that I actually worked on my birthday and didn’t tell anyone. I didn’t know people took birthdays that seriously, lol. Maybe my 30th, 40th, and 50th, but 25? Nah.

@MrsPanda99: November. Actually it’s thanksgiving every fifth year!
eta I I think yellow topaz is pretty ugly and don’t mind at all having my birthday be near a holiday. I get so much food that week

August. It’s the peridot, that kind of lime green one. I wasn’t a huge fan growing up, but I like it now. I don’t own anything with it, though. My little guy was due on the split between November and December, and I may or may not have researched birth stones in both months so I knew which to hope for, haha. He was born right around Thanksgiving and we’ll have to contend with that holiday. August was only bad because I never got to celebrate in school.
I don’t actually much care about my birthday. We’ve started a tradition of going on a picnic, which I love. Otherwise, a dinner out or a card and call it a day! DH’s 30th is next year, though, so I’ll go a little more all-out for that!

Mine is August. I don’t think I own any peridot jewelry, but my mom has a gorgeous 2+ carat ring that I hope I inherit some day. 🙂

- Wedding: May 2014 - Madison, WI
I was born in Oxford, England on April 1st.
In England it is NOT “April Fool’s Day” like it is here, in fact the year I was born it was “Mothering Sunday”. So my Mom got all sorts of extra goodies in the hospital!
Growing up in the USA, I did kind of hate a few things about my birthday but some I grew to enjoy. 1. It is on April Food’s Day, everyone was always pranking me on my birthday. I spent a few birthdays in tears because of pranks pulled on me when I was quite young. 2. Only when I was very young, I hated that I never got to celebrate my bday at school because it was always over Spring Break. Everyone else got a fuss made over their bday at school but not me. – Granted looking back this is obviously true for summer bdays, and many more!! LOL Of course when I got older I LOVED having time off for my bday!
My birthstone is diamond. Sounds great right? Wrong! I never got anything in my real birthstone. I always got CZ, white topaz, etc while I saw my friends get beautiful aquamarine, sapphire, and ruby jewelry for their birthdays. I think this is partially why I wanted a diamond so much for my e-ring! LOL. I got diamond earrings for my grad school graduation but they’re very poor quality (I2-I3), so getting my first and to date only high quality diamond was a big deal to me.
Sounds like I’m just complaining! LOL, It’s really not a big deal. But a perspective of more so how I felt when I was younger.

October. It’s today, actually 🙂
It’s really just another day unless it’s a big one – 21, 25, 30, etc…

@megz06: It is just another day for me too…except that I want to hide in a dark room and cry because I’m getting old and being a grown up sucks, lol. I’m so mature 😀

Darling Husband and I are BOTH May babies! Which is the emerald. I aspire to own something emerald at some point. I checked them out in the Carribean, but I didn’t like the lighter color. And of COURSE they’re super expensive!

@abbie017: Happy Birthday!!
My birthday is October 31st. Halloween is cool and people always want to party so that’s good lol. The birth stone is Opal and I like that but it is a precious stone so usually you just find the rose quartz and that just looks cheap to me. I dont like it at all.
Fall is my favorite time of year though! It kicks off boot season! woo hoo!

May. The only piece I own is a real emerald necklace passed down to me by my late grandmother. It’s beautiful, I should wear it more often, but I don’t.
