I will be working full time and writing a master’s thesis next spring AND planning a wedding. I have a few free weeks while I take classes part-time and I am trying to get things done and this is what I have accomplished so far:
1. Booked ceremony and reception
2. Booked photographer
3. Booked photobooth
4. Booked officient/completed pre-marriage course
5. Set up registries
6. Set date for bridal shower with Future Mother-In-Law and MOB
7. Scheduled hair appointments
1. Decision on florist and cake narrowed
2. Scheduled tasting with caterer (same as reception venue, as is music)
3. Gone Bridesmaid or Best Man dress shopping (narrowed choices)
4. Picked out my dress (haven’t purchased)
5. Begun process to design and print invites
6. Begun setting up website and guest list.
song lists (partial)
So help, me, please. I have no spare time after August 1 and I don’t want a crazy June/July 2011 – what more can I do now??? Also, our wedding will take place an hour away from where we both live and 3-4 hours for close family and friends.

Stuff that I did a year out included:
– Deciding on favours
– Deciding and then creating guestbook
– Starting to collect gifts for bridal party
We DIY’d all our paper products for our wedding and we did them as soon as we possibly could. We’re now 13 days out and I’m SO thankful we did that as it’s crazy enough as it is at the moment!

Sounds like you have already done a lot! Have you figured out any details – like what format/readings/music you’ll use for the ceremony. Any particular pictures you want to be sure to get from your photographer (make some lists, both poses you like and who should be in what pictures for family & wp). If you’re having a bathroom basket or (inedible) favors, you could always have those ready. Will the men be renting or buying tuxes/suits and figure out where to get them from.
Otherwise, if you finish your half-done tasks, then it sounds like you will be ready to get married and can focus on your thesis!

You could also start shopping for bridesmaid/groomsmen/FMIL/FFIL gifts! It is on my list of to-do’s this summer.

Oh wow! You have sooo much accomplished already, I’m jealous! Now I am getting worried I don’t have enough done. I haven’t even started thinking about the registry or showers, and I haven’t even been dress shopping!
You do sound like you have a much busier year than me!

If you have any summer-themed items you want now is a good time to buy them since they’re on sale. For example, I’m having buckets of flip flops for dancing at the reception, and I bought them around this time last year at Old Navy for close to $1.50 a pair. Just a thought…
