Okay, so I’m sure that I’m not the only insane bee out there who literally loathes going to the gym. I did competitive cheerleading all through high school and was extremely active (stunting, dancing, running, cheering, lol). However, none of that felt like a work out to me. It was all for a purpose larger than myself (the 31 other girls who would have kicked my ass if I didn’t perform at 100%)! Now I am having trouble finding that motivation to go to the gym…
I love music… what music motivates you to keep on keeping on?

when i used to go to the gym, i liked gwen stefani or something ridiculously pop/silly/fun, like britney spears or erasure. i know, i have little taste.
as for motivation, is there a recreational sports league you can join if that’s more interesting to you? or joining a runners’ group?
or you could sit on the couch like me.

I dig repetitive music that is completely void of any intelligent lyrics whatsoever. Britney, Kylie, Janet Jackson, Justin Timberlake. . . .
My pandora calls it: nu-disco qualities, electronica influences, a subtle use of vocal harmony, mild rhythmic syncopation.
@vanilla – as an old ex cheer can I suggest Jazzercise? I love the pop40 hits they do routines to and it changes everytime you are in there. Or what about a local hip hop class? It’s a fun transition from the rigidness of cheer moves to combining fluid and rigid movements in lock and pop. . .

Really intense pop/r&b type music. It has to be loud, intense, and have a serious beat. Reminds me of hte days they’d blare music in the basketball stadium for our warm up!
