Sade’s "By Your Side", and my bridesmaids & flowergirls walked down to Lauryn Hill’s "Can’t Take My Eyes Off You".

I dreaded the thought of walking down the aisle to "Here Comes the Bride."  Millions of women do it, but to me, it’s such a boring song.  So for me, I wanted to pick a song that meant something to me.

My guests loved it because it was unexpected and I still get asked all the time about the song.

bridal party is going down to Landon Pigg’s – falling in love at a coffee shop

and me-  uh- its a weird one that really has nothing to do with weddings and love, but I’m a HUGE John Mayer fan- so I picked "Say" by John Mayer.  I’m still only about 80% sure about it, since its really quite odd for a wedding- but its got such a lovely guitar beginning and I love JM.  We joke that we are going to have a "Mayerage" instead of "marriage"

I haven’t decided on the bridesmaids, but I’m walking down to "Aria di Mezzo Caraterre" from Final Fantasy 6.

I’m using Pachelbel’s cannon for the processional. I wanted something semi-traditional and I danced to this song when I was younger in a concert ๐Ÿ™‚

We’re using some non-traditional songs throughout the ceremony with guitar and a soloist.

At the moment, we think we are walking down to Edelweiss.  We have another brilliant idea about every other week, but this one hasn’t changed in a while…

I walked in to Albinoni’s Adagio in G or strings and organ continuo.  It is the most beautiful song you will ever hear and the music changes from somber, your father giving you away, to a joyous piece when you are placed in the hands of your FH.  It’s perfect and so moving.

I downloaded several Vitamin String Quartet cover songs.  We won’t be having a wedding party, but folks will be seated while "Just Like Heaven" plays, and probably a few others. As I walk down the aisle with my son, "Hey There Delilah" will play.  (Corny, but I love it.)  When we walk back down the aisle as man & wife, we’ll have "Another One Bites the Dust" play.  Mainly because I want to see my dad’s face when he realizes what the song is.  ๐Ÿ˜‰

This will probably make sense only to Jewish gals out there but the entire wedding party will be walking down to L’chi Lach by Debbie Friedman(instrumental version).  Even if you aren’t Jewish, the melody is really super pretty!

acoustic "secret garden"…..love it!  our musicians learned it for us!  I guess the bridal party will walk to "what a wonderful world", simply because I don’t feel like looking for something.
