Darling Husband and I were talking about future girl names if we were to have one. He likes the name Madison and Cameron. Which name do you like better?
Edit: Sorry, I have only seen both names spelled with y’s :p

I like the sound of Madisyn. I have never seen it spelt that way though.

I feel like Madison is super popular so I voted Cameron. Though spelling Camryn that way makes it look like a boys name to me…

@LGenz: Agreed. I like Cameron better but not the “y” spelling… although Cameron is also a boy’s name sometimes, so whatever.

I like the name Madison better.
But honestly, I really dislike the spelling of both.
I am not a fan of taking a name that exists and trying to make it “unique” with an incorrect spelling. Maybe I’m just a traditionalist.

Edit completely: I’m glad you changed it to no Ys. In that case, I like Madison better because to me Madison (then shortened to Maddie) is a cuter and more feminine name than Cameron and Cami.

I like Madison better, but spelled without the “y.” I don’t like either name spelt with the “y.” IMO, you’re just condemning your child to spelling her name to everyone for the rest of her life.

I personally like Madisyn better because to me it sounds more feminine. I know a couple of male Camerons (and 0 females with the name), so in my head the name Cameron or anything similar seems more masculine. That’s just me though.

I like Madison but not spelled with a Y.

Cameron. Don’t do the y’s.

They are both pretty names, but I voted for Cameron, with the note that I really really hope you can be persuaded not to do the y spelling. It just looks awkward.

Camryn was my pick for our 2nd daughter and we would have called her Cami, Darling Husband didn’t like it that much so we went with something else. I like the Y spelling because it is much more feminine then Cameron.
I think Madison, no matter how you spell it, is a really popluar name. Some people care about that and some don’t. I am not sure I like the spelling of Madison with the Y.

I have 3 madisons in my family and 5 friends with a daughter named madison. My daughter has so many friends named madison that they refer to them as madison g., madison v., madison s., etc.
So I vote Cameron. My cousin has a daughter with that name. She is adorable. 🙂

I voted for Madison because like @MrsMeNow I also dislike the nickname Cami for Cameron.

Honestly, I only know little boys named Cameron, no girls. I prefer Madison, but PPs are right that it’s super popular.
