they will be mailed before you’re married, so your maiden name.  it might be more fun to get an invite addressed to “the future mr and mrs so-and-so”, but it should be your maiden

This is definitely a personal decision, but if you’re asking for the etiquette answer, you should be addressed using your maiden name in the invitation and the program (and everything else in the world) until your wedding day. Of course, you legally won’t have your name changed until the paperwork goes through, but people understand that it’s acceptable for you to start using your married name when you’re married. Using it a month or so beforehand is generally not done.

Sorry, misread your post slightly – since you will already be married by the time you take part in the October wedding, then certainly you should be referred to in the wedding program using your married name then. Sorry to be confusing! It’s late, even on the West coast here….

@melv – aaaahhhhh. ok.  invitations and programs are two different things!  in the program you should have your married name since you will be married by then. no cheating and using it earlier, it will ruin the fun of using it after you’re married 🙂
