Our names that we have picked right now are fairly common but they are family names.
Girl- Elizabeth Susan: His mom’s middle name is Beth and Sue/Susan/Suzanne run back in my family for a few generations. I actually chose Elizabeth Susan before learning his mom’s middle name!
Boy- Stephen John: We’re still struggling with this one because I picked it out knowing that his dad’s name is Stephen but not realizing his middle name is John so our child would have the same name as his grandpa. John runs on both sides for two generations so we will definitely keep that name.

I love names too. I think I’m at least a few years away from having any but right now I like Junia Eleanor for a girl and William Malachy for a boy. William and Eleanor are family names. Junia goes better with our family name than June and Malachy is just an Irish name I like.

We’re not sure if we’re having kids yet- we’ve been together for nearly 7 years and we JUST had our first discussion a few weeks ago about what we might name our children if we do!
There are very few boy names I like, but I actually LOVE the combination of our grandfather’s names: Nevin Timothy or Nevin William. Nevin is his great-grandfather’s name and DH’s middle name, and Timothy is my grandfather/ William is my great-grandfather. That’s the only boy’s name either of us really like, and since they’re family names that’s probably what we’d go with.
For girls, I like the name Lily Michelle, with Lily being my favorite girls’ name ever and Michelle being my mom’s name. But Darling Husband isn’t sold on Lily. He likes Jessica/Jessie, but I’m really not a fan because I know SO many Jessicas. I’ve recently decided I like the names Kennedy and Guinevere for a girl, and I think he might like those better than Lily, lol.

SO only likes three (literally, just three) boys names; Maximus, Leo and Jack. Luckily I love Max and like Leo and Jack – though I’d prefer Harrison, Hudson, Zachary, Ethan or Sebastian over the latter two. Unfortunately SO does not like my favourite names. Middle names will be chosen from family names; James, Mathewson and Paul being our top choices.
Scarlet, Ruby and Ava, are our top favourites for girls though we both agree on Indie and Mila. I also love Violet, Sienna, Daisy and Lila; SO loves Alice, Belle and Ella. Middle names that we agree on are a form of Rose, May. Eve and Matilda; I love Genevieve, Guinevere and Seraphina, but again, SO dislikes them.
I think we’ll have a hard time agreeing on names, as I love many, therefore making me indecisive, whereas SO is very set on the names he wants for our children and doesn’t want to compromise.

A daughter? Julia
A son? Nathan
We have our middle names picked out as well. This was something we discussed at length before getting married.
My brother and sister-in-law are now at war when it comes to picking names – they’ve been married 9 years and together for 14 years. You’d think in all that time, they would have worked out some names. It’s really straining their marriage, and she’s now more than 30 weeks along. He hates the two names she wants, claiming that he doesn’t want one name because it reminds him of a boss he hates.
It was a dealbreaker for me if my husband was that adamant about having his way with names. He could compromise, which was a positive sign. I’m so glad we worked that out *before* we had kids on the way.

Darling Husband is dead set on Nathan James for a boy. I’m not crazy about Nathan, but it’s tolerable I suppose. I would like to just name our son after him… Christopher Michael – I love it!
My top choices for girls are Anastasia Rose and Kyra Noelle. Catherine Teresa is a close runner up.

My son’s name is Holden Nicholas. Holden means “courageous one”, and i liked it. For my future children, i’m loving the double name thing. So, for a boy, my Fiance and i have picked out John Paul Grant. John Paul after John Paul 2, the pope. Grant, after the president (my Fiance is “into” history ๐ ). For a girl, Cora Marie Ella. Cora Marie after a nun i worked with for a while who was Sr. Coeur Marie (Heart of Mary). She was the only peson i’ve ever met who literally lit up a room. She is an artist who has her work displayed in the Vatican, and was just so inspiring to me. I told her i’d name my first daughter after her. So, going with Cora Marie for ease of pronunciation. My Fiance really likes “ella”.

Boy: Robert Alfred and using the middle name. My SO and his father both are named Robert and both go by their middle names. Alfred was my father’s name – he died when I was 17.
Girl: Alice as either a first or second name. It was my maternal grandmother’s middle name and I always loved the name.

My absolute FAVORITE name is Quinn! Fiance likes Aria, because of Game of Thrones. For a boy I’m more undecided. I like Ryan, Noah, and Darren. I don’t know what Fiance likes for a boy.
