Fiance has thrown out a few names for girls but the only one we agree on so far is Cecilia.  I like the name Adalia but I haven’t mentioned it to him yet.  We haven’t thought much about boys names but I’d like him to have FI’s name as his middle name, Christopher.

FH likes names like John, Steve and Fred. All old-fashioned male names. He also likes Dante and Antonio?!? I want our son to be called Logan Paul. I figured I’d let him have his old-fashioned name as a middle name, and we get to have Logan. ๐Ÿ™‚ For a girl, I want it to be either Emelia Jade or Tegan Jade. He doesn’t like “foofy” names. He tells me they aren’t even real names?! Weird.

For boys, I have had my name picked out since I was little, little. My SO likes it enough not to fight with me, haha. For a boy, we have Harrison Hemingway locked and loaded–Harrison is I think after George Harrison who I have always been obsessed with and Hemingway because I am not only an English nerd, but am doing my thesis on Hemingway and am obsessed with all things Hemingway–we are even considering getting married at the Hemingway Home in Key West!!!

Other boy names we like are (in no order): Arlo, Sebastian, Gideon, Leo, August/Augustus, Jameson, Wyatt, Riordan, Lincoln, Truman, Jaspar, Zachary, and Desmond, and Atticus–no real theme and I think if we had two boys I would try to find a name that better suited Harrison. For middle names we want to honor family members that way–so Thomas, James, William, Henry, etc.

For girls, I like too many to decide on just one and I don’t think I could until I saw my daughter. We have Daphne, Everly, Cordelia, Lydia, Theodora, Winifred, Antonia, Cecelia, Leona, Beatrice, Violet, Hadley, Gwendolyn, and Charlotte.

I like strong FULL names, so I would put as much thought into the middle names as the first names. I want to honor my late Nana, whose name was Marion, as well as my best friend (especially because she has such a beautiful middle name!) whose middle name is Emilia, and then I’ve always thought Genevieve was beautiful. Also, my SO really likes Ridley/Ridgely, Paley, Tatum (I actually remember nearly crying when Channing Tatum named his daughter Everly, because now her name was legit one of our favorites: Everly Tatum) or other somewhat offbeat middle names for girls.

There you have it! My baby name rant!

After reading through ALL of these names I have a list compiled. ๐Ÿ™‚

My name starts with K, my DH with J so I like the idea of using our initials in our children’s names. He also had a daughter named Hope, so we may use H as well.

Girls names: Hailey (DH has loved the name Hailey since his first daughter), Hadley (I’ve loved this name since reading the Sookie Stackhouse series/ True Blood), Jaida, Kailey, Kassidee, Middle names would be Kristine, Jade, Lynn, or Mary – either combining our initials or b/c of family names.

Boys: We both love the name JohnLuke, Yes from Duck Dynasty, but both names separetly have significance on their own for us, I just don’t like either individually. (We’re big on 2-syllable names) I’m only hesitant because I don’t want people to think his 1st name is John, 2nd Luke – how to emphasize that it is one name? Other boy names I like: Jayden, Jenson, Kristian, Karson, Jackson, Jayson, and Hunter.

I like Gwen and Owen. I ran them by Fiance and he wasn’t crazy about them. But we’re a few years away from kids so maybe he’ll change his mind by then (or I will). ๐Ÿ™‚
