One was a no show. We were not surprise because her husband told us she’s a maybe due to babysitter issue. We also had an expected +1 the day off, so everything even out. We had a small wedding and everyone let us know a head of time if they couldn’t make it.

I’ve been told to plan on 10-15% being no’s… Not sure how accurate that is… probably depends on the people ???

We had a semi destination wedding for most everyone (2-4 hours drive), and had about 15-20% decline.  We had some people that were really late on rsvping, and a couple people who showed up w/ extra guests.  Paying for the extra people at $100 pp was annoying, especially when a handful of them left before dinner!

When we were making our guest list, I became really preoccupied with finding a formula to estimate how many people will respond “no”. I realized, though, that it’s extremely different for each person based on circumstances, time of year, and how far guests have to travel.

We invited about 230 but only 40 of those people live in the same city as the wedding, and only about 100 total live in the state we’re getting married in. We’re also having an at-home reception, so a lot of my family/family friends are opting to attend that instead in my hometown.

We will probably end up with about 115-120 guests at the actual wedding (probably about the same or more at the AHR), but that’s almost a 50% decline rate! It’s definitely different depending on your circumstances–for us, about 50% of the people we invited would have to get on a plane to attend our wedding, so we expected we’d have a ton of declines.

We had about 30%, which is up from the “industry standard” of 20%.

We invited 140 and had about 80 attend. We were expecting about 100 because a lot of his family lives pretty far away and doesn’t travel often.
