We spent around 5% of our budget on decor.  This was mostly on table linens, centerpieces, and a few floral decorations.  We didn’t use lighting or backdrops.  The bridesmaids and I placed our bouquets in glass vases on the head table for decoration.

Most of your money will most likely be spent at the reception for the food and booze. I was SHOCKED at how much $$ it cost for just the food and we did a cheap option…but at $$25 a person…plus $3 per person for cake…it added up FAST!!! (and we only had $90 people) Plus there is a DJ, Photographer, Dress, Hair/Make-up, Rings, etc…it adds up REALLY fast.

The only reason I said 10% instead of 1% is because I am including the flowers for the centerpieces. But its surprising ALL the things that you need to buy so I wouldn’t use a ton of your budget on things like table cloths, lighting, etc.

You can spend SO much money. If you have a huge budget, go nuts! 🙂  But if you don’t….try to not go overboard on the decor because there are so many things you will want/need to spend your money on. You can do a lot of DIY projects that will save you money and if you like your reception space…it may not need a lot of extras
