Could you make it an office? Nice sitting room if you all are readers? Smaller workout room if you both are into that? Some sort of dining room if you don’t have one already?

daniellemc:  We have a similar extra living room type thing going on as well. We use it as kind of a sitting room or entertaining room I guess. We have another couch in there, a small table, a book shelf, a cabinet with board games, a record player and a bar cabinet. Since your room opens to the backyard and the kitchen, it might make a good entertaining room as well.

ETA: Is there another floor with a living room? If not, I’m assuming that is meant to be the living/TV room.

Is there another floor to the house?  Looks like that would be meant to be the living room.  I’d have a sofa against the wall of the guest room next to the master with the tv on the opposite wall.  Or a L sofa against that same guest room next ot the msater with the back of the other L towrad the kitchen and a TV against the outside wall next to the sliding door.

An office? An art room (assuming the French doors allow in a lot of light), a formal dining room, living room?

I would make it into a nice sitting room/tv room/play room type of thing.

Is this a family room of sorts? Or is it another bedroom?

You can do a lot with it; den, home office, or it can be the “family room” aka where you put the TV.

If it were me, I’d put a nice over stuffed chair in the corner to the right of the french doors and wall. Then an entertainment center/tv stand agains the right wall. I’d place a nice couch against the wall of the left guest room with a love seat in front of the wall attached to the kitchen. Leave enough room in between the love seat and kitchen wall to create sort of a walk way in between. Place a cute little ottoman or coffee table in front of the couch (it will also be in front of the love seat) and there you have it! a nice little gathering area for everyone.

Computer/TV room? With storage! We lack so much storage in our house, get some cupboards/shelves in for the ”stuff’ that doesn’t really live anywhere else.

A formal dining room! Or maybe a sitting room? I think anything with too many cords might look too messy.

Dining room? Looks like its off the kitchen. That would make sense to me.

Is this the entire house? If so, I’d make that a family room, with couches, tv, chairs, etc.

Yes, the diagram is super confusing. That’s definitely the living room if there isn’t one!

But if there is, I’d make it a reading room.. or whatever your hobbies/lifestyle begets. Personally I’d likely do a tv room, and have my other living room/not pictured be the fancier sitting room. But if the light is wonderful and amazing (hullo French doors and backyard view), a bright reading room and light deskspace would be ideal.
