I bought a pair of earrings online for $18 and they were way too big.  I was able to resell them on ebay for $5 so not a complete loss.  That and I searched all over to buy the perfect tiara, got it for $30, but decided to make a floral crown instead.  Still have the tiara…guess I’ll have it if I every dress up as a pirncess!

So far a $200 veil that is too short. The store will let me exchange it for a tiara or earrings because they don’t carry any chapel length veils.

Putting down a deposit for someone to decorate tables.  I don’t feel like dealing with another person.

Accidently giving 4 entree choices on the RSVP card instead of the 3 that were included in our cost = $2pp, not a lot but if we have 100 people it’s $200 that could have been spent elsewhere and won’t be obvious/appreciated

The cake. It was pretty, but not worth the $600 we paid for it.

Hmmm I had to think about this one but probably our officiant or maybe the programs.

i wasn’t crazy about him although he did a good job. I don’t think ihe was worth the $750.

And we had a ton of programs leftover so I’m assuming we didn’t need them. I have no idea what they cost.

@FleeSircus:  Those Manolos are GORGEOUS!! I hope you find an occasion to wear them–it’d almost be a crime not to! Or, you know, you could always find someone to take them off your hands 😉

No regrets yet. We are trying to be careful with overspending on things that aren’t absolutely necessary. I wish I would have shopped around a bit more for my dress. I probably could have found one that I loved for a few hundred dollars less.

Paying for hair and make-up with an MUA/Stylist and later regretting choosing her. I emailed her a week ago, actually, with a photo asking if that was what she’d done with my hair at the trial. She replied that she’d have to do another trial and that she didn’t have time to deal with that. I told her I didn’t want her to deal with anything – I was just asking a question. Rubbed me the wrong way and got me thinking.

I should have seen the red flags. Now I’ve fired her – she was far to pushy and I felt she’d stress me out on the big day. She even made me self-conscious. Now I’m back to square one and out all that money for myself, Maid/Matron of Honor, and Flower Girl. Booo ….

@Flanders:  I totally plan on making a  blanket/pillow from my dress once it’s all over! Either that or I’ll get sad and let it hang in my closet for years and years hoping my future daughter will want it, but probably not. Anyway.. I think your pillow idea is great 😉

I have two headpieces, but I’m going to wear one for the rehearsal so it wasn’t a complete waste :-)!

@Josheen: Ahahaha, we should start a ‘cushions from wedding dress tips and designs’ thread.  I went for black and blush in the end, so I can totally were the top part of my wedding dress – it’s a black button back too so it could work. The maggie sotterro however is going to be dismembered for scraps! Seriously, I am not even able to sell it for  third of what I paid…. oef.
