I don’t know if this is exactly how we will be doing things, however our venue’s event coordinator attached this fairly detailed timeline to our contract which may help you:

7:45 PM Guests to take their seats for dinner as bridal party is lined up for Announcements. Champagne to be poured as the Guests
begin to Arrive
8:00PM Parents, Bridal Party, Bride and Groom are announced
8:05PM Invocation by Father of the Bride
8:10 PM Maid of Honor and Best Man’s Toasts
8:15 PM Soup is served and Bride and Grooms Thank You
8:30 PM Bar Re-Opens for Guests
9:25 pm Bride and Groom to Cut Cake on the Dance Floor
9:30 PM Bride and Groom First Dance
9:45 PM Cake Buffet and Continental Coffee Service is placed for guests
11:30 PM Bar Closes
12:00 AM Event Concludes

5 to 5:30 – ceremony

5:30 to 6:30 – cocktail hour (bar remains open entire night)

6:30 – bridal party/bride & groom enter reception

6:35 – cake cutting

6:45 – first dance, followed by bride/brother  groom/mother dance

7 – dinner  

8 – let the party begin!   dance floor opens

10:30 – pizza

midnight – end

We haven’t finalized anything yet but here is my working timeline

  • 2:00 – first look & group pictures
  • 5:00 – ceremony
  • 5:30 – alt.recieving line/games/cocktails/Hors d’oeuvres
  • 7:00 – 1st dance, parents dance
  • 7:15 – everyone to tables, preacher says grace
  • 7:30 – Bridal party and family to dinner 1st, then trivia questions to release to dinner
  • 8:00 – toasts, invite to dance
  • 8:07 – sunset
  • 9:30 – thai lanterns
  • 9:45 – “cut the cake” & start dessert
  • 10:00 – more dancing
  • 11:30 – bon-fire/smores

Ceremony- 6:40-7:05

Champagne passed at exit

Receiving line into ceremony- 7:05-7:25

7:30-dinner starts (five courses, goes through 9:00)

7:35-bridal party announced

7:40- cake cut

7:45- bar opens

7:55-toasts

8:50-first dance 

9:00- party!!

12:00- burger bar

12:45- bar closes

1:00- music stops 🙁

1:00-1:30- winding down,reception over
