so if you pick your own e ring, do you do it after he proposes or before? My bf has an heirloom ring we are going to reset the stone from, but am not sure whether that usually happens before or after proposal. For those picking your own ring, what order are you going in? Thanks!

I have a heirloom ring that I am getting reset also. I guess I’m kind of being a brat about the whole thing. I went looking on my own and we went together. I finally picked my setting, now I’m leaving the rest up to him. However I told him I still want to be surprised with the propasal. So I’m expecting my new ring and proposal together.
But does it really matter? He can propose to you with your heirloom ring then you guys can get the one you want. I would leave it up to him. This is suppose to be their thing, it’s nice enough that we are getting a say in our new ring.

my Fiance proposed without a ring. when we found the setting i wanted, we had the stone set and he gave it to me then. i was without a ring for about a month and a half. not a big deal for me, you know? i’m picky, and i knew it’d be a process to find a ring i liked.

My fiance proposed without a ring. He had ordered it but didn’t have it yet, and ended up proposing kind of on a whim. When we got the ring he proposed again

@Cordellia: I chose my ring, he bought it, and then I waited 2 long months for him to propose.
