I have the hardest time accepting the Make up and Hair pricing here in the Bay Area! it all starts pretty much at $350 for on location service! that’s seems to be a bit much for make up and updo for one day!.. but i know i will need it in order to look extra special on the professional pics.. sigh 🙁
Sooo i was just wondering what part of your bridal look you had the hardest time speding the money on?

I can’t justify spending on a veil considering how exxy some of them are and not necessarily you’ll use it other than the ceremony. Esp in comparison to hairpiece or dress which you’ll have on all day.
Contemplating DIY on this one!

veils.
so ridiculously overpriced.
also, i hate how much mani/pedi’s are. unless it’s something that’s worth paying upwards of $50 for? not happening. as someone in the industry, i know what’s worth that and what’s not. a 15 minute pedicure ain’t worth $40, people.

VEIL! At first I wasn’t sure if I wanted one, then I found out how much they are new from boutiques. I got lucky and found a used one on Ebay that I love! $35 when the original one I loved at the boutique was $175

Veil – I’m still annoyed I got talked into buying one for $200 since I didn’t want one in the first place. I’m hoping to sell it after and make some of the cost back. The things I do sometimes to make parents happy…. *sigh*

My veil was way more than I had intended and I could have made it myself but it was so pretty… I hated more how much my stupid strapless bra cost. SOO expensive!

Yes hair and make up is expensive so I researched to find a good artist at a better price than most. I fell in live with an expensive veil too but then I found one at a sample sale that is cathedral length for only $25 sold!!! Otherwise I may have borrowed one from a friend. I borrowed the crinoline and rented a belt from my bridal salon for $15 as I wasn’t willing to pay over $100 on a sash for one day.

I think worst thing to spend money is on is the undergarments. When am I ever going to wear a petticoat or whatever you call it again? The corset bra I could may see wearing it again…but $150-200 for undergarments you are wearing one day is ridiculous! LOL And ah yes the hair and make-up is ridiculous too. I am spending $270 for make-up and a hairstyle I am going to have one day. No wonder the wedding industry will never go out of business…between the dress, accessories, reception costs, etc., etc.!! LOL

Makeup and hair. So I did my own since I’m picky about those things anyway.

Veil! My veil was custom made for length and added crystals and ended up costing me nearly $800.00 by the time I was finished. I got so flustered I didn’t even realize the final cost until after the fact…it was frustrating.
While gorgeous I hate the fact that I spent that amount on something that shouldn’t cost nearly that much.

@Birdee106: @CaptainSpaulding: very brave of you two to do it yourself! would loveee to see some pictures! i on the other hand, cant do it myself.. i barely brush my hair and my make up routine is base plus powder plus eyeliner.. even for special occasions lols..
@lovelylight99: at least you can reuse the corset bra.. i bet it must make you feel ultra sexy jeje..
@Treejewel19: wowww $800! that is as much as a dress or half a dress! eekk… it looks very pretty tho! did you wear it all nightt to make the $ worth? jeje
