leonatigra :  do you live in london?

im in the uk and £20,000 is a lot I dont know anyone who has gone over £13,000 and that was a expensive wedding ours is only £5,000 – the UK has lots of affordable wedding option including several chains with £1000 wedding packages

I dont know anyone in any budget with a planner though, I saw a thing that said in the uk its just really feesable although day co-ordinatiors can be life-savers I think we will invest in that just to relieve stress

I’m doing all the planning myself because I love it so much! However, a coworker is going to be there the day-of just to basically make sure everybody does what they need to do, when they need to do it. And she’s doing it for free! 🙂

About 10-12% for our full scale planner. Best money we spent on the wedding.

Our day-of coordinator cost around $650 for a 125-guest wedding, plus I gave her an additional $100 at the wedding as a thank you. Our total budget was somewhere around $25-$30k, so it was not a large portion of our budget. We actually did not budget for it at first, and then I started to worry about the day running smoothly. She was a great investment.

About 2.5%. We just had our friend’s sister in law do our day of (required by venue). We actually met 2-3 times including a visit to the venue. She had done this previously for free for friends but since didn’t know her, paid her a few hundred bucks for her time. She kept me on task and did everything we asked her to. At the very least, a day of coordinator is a godsend.

$800 for day-of coordination is a great price.

Zero percent. We didn’t feel we needed one, but a day-of one came with our venue.

0%.  I got enaged in November 2014 and July 2015 we were married.  It was MORE than doable without one and we didn’t have to sacrifice anything in the budget to include that cost.

0% Tasks will be delegated to family members. Everyone will have one task to do. For example, one of my sisters and Mom will set up the dessert table after dinner, My FSIL and her boyfriend will be assisting with pouring the champagne toast, etc. Everyone will be given a timeline to start their task.

I’m hoping this works. Brian and I are the type of people who always show up to help people move, bring extra food to parties, help paint rooms, etc. I’m hoping that years of helping folks will make everyone happy to do this. (8 days and I’ll tell you how it goes.)

augustbridetobe2016 :  $800 is not a lot, depending on your region. What region are you in?

I’m an Executive Assistant by day (photographer on the side), so I LOVE to plan! Not hiring a wedding planner. I planned my first trip out of the US (two weeks in Europe) all by myself & it went GREAT, so I think I can handle one day 🙂 Note: Our ceremony venue provides an on-site coordinator the day-of free of charge.
