In my opinion, Photoshop is the best, it can do virtually everything. I’m a web developer, and the only graphics programs we use are Photoshop and other Adobe CreativeSuite programs.

Photoshop 5 has some REALLY cool features, like Puppet Warp and Content-Aware Fill.

I used photoshop cs3 then I realised most my problems I had was with the lighting on my photography.

So I downloaded a program called Adobe Lightroom  yesterday – I only downloaded the trial and its one of the best things ever. You can put a filter on it to give it various tones – black n white, sepia, old school 60s kind of look. Everything.  It also has an exposure tool to lighten those photos up.

🙂

@kate169: there is a filter its called creative color – cp 2.. so when you open up lightroom, go to the develop tab… click presets and should be an automated one already in there. You can download differant presents by googling on the internet. There are some that you can download for free. Right click on user presets and then click import 🙂

I have some great fashion shot presets (well they call it fashion shot) I absolutely adore how the pics are turning out!

@clarebee: It really is!!

I can give you a few instructions of the basics! The rest I think you can figure it out!

Download the program.

Go File > import photos it will take you to a new page and up the top click the title ‘from’ (this will take you to a section where you choose which folder you want to download from)

Select your photos.. Click Import button located on the BOTTOM right hand screen.

It will then import your photos…

To edit your photos click the ‘Develop’ tab… this up the TOP right hand of your screen

This will come up with a window giving you a navigator bar to the left to select presets. so this is where your filters are located (the ones that create your awseome affects!) … and on the right it will give you exposure and a recovery slide bar. Exposure changes the lighting… and recovery changes the detail you can see.

Select each preset and adjust levels to how you desire.  On the photo you can ‘right click ‘and click ‘create virtual copy.’ This will give  an exact copy of what you just created and then you can alter that one with another preset if you so wish!

It includes a cropping tool if you want to crop the photo also. Also exposure tools!

Its really easy!

To export the photos when your done

head to file and then click ‘export’ it will give you prompts to save it to your computer.

I think those instructions will get you started, any questions feel free to ask!
