Mine is a love quote and it means a lot to me. It’s not as broad as the other quotes. Sorry!

“If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day, so that I never have to live without you”. – Winnie the Pooh

Silly but whenever I am having a bad day Destination Wedding says the same thing: Martinis make it better! Reminds me that I tend to catastrophize small things when really I should just move on ๐Ÿ™‚

Always cheers me up if I’m not feeling great about my body/looks.

iarebridezilla:  on a lighter note- I once heard some coaches say about an athlete’s fitness level, “Well, it’s a fit fat.” I thought it was so funny. I’m an athlete and I’m 36 weeks preggo and yesterday my husband told me, “Don’t worry, it’s a fit fat” and I laughed so hard. It made me feel so much better about the weight I’ve gained.

Another one I like is “Courage is not the absence of fear but the mastery of it”- I coach alpine ski racing, which can be scary to participate in, and this quote always makes me feel like it’s ok to be afraid and I’m not just being a pussy.

“This too shall pass” I also think about it during the really good times to remind myself to appreciate those great fleeting moments.

More recently, I have another one popping into my head, curtesy of my Fiance. Whenever we would see a dead animal on the road a bird that fell out of a tree, I would get upset and he would just start singing “it’s a circle of life.” So yea, that.

Awesome thread!

“Comparison is the thief of joy” – This one was big while weddin planning but applies to many things in life

“Love me when I deserve it least, because that’s when I’ll need it most.”

I was going to say “You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars”, but I really love the entire writing, Desiderata, so here’s the whole thing:

“Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons.

Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story.

Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter; for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.

Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.

Exercise caution in your business affairs; for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals; and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself. Especially, do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth.

Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.

Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul. With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.”

iarebridezilla:  Mine is a little nerdy, but since I’m an engineer it applys to my work a lot. Especially when I’m struggling to figure out why something broke/what happened:

iarebridezilla:  One my principal always says is:

“The students who need our love and compassion the most and often the ones who are the hardest to give it to.”

We have a tougher population of students due to various reasons and sometimes hearing this reminds me that some students are dealing with so much that I have to be the adult and be there for them no matter what they’ve said/done to me.
