I like my nose.

I like my lower half of my legs (calves)…they are very toned.  My upper legs (thighs) are chubby, though.

I like that my skin tans very easily and gets dark ๐Ÿ™‚

@Sunfire: There’s really nothing. This is why I’m in therapy. I can at least recognize that this is my own opinion now and stay away from fact-based thinking, however, which is a testament to the fact that therapy is really working, but in my own opinion there’s absolutely nothing physical about me that I like…honestly the easiest way to deal with it is to realize that society puts way too much importance on physical appearance anyway, and to realize that that’s 90% of my issue (with the 10% being some form of mental illness due to genetics) When society tells you that you’re wrong for being short, or being 118lbs as opposed to 70 at your height, that the bump in your nose is wrong, or your jaw is too square, or your nose is too big, etc, etc…some people begin to believe it and before you know it that’s all they can see is their flaws. You’re a very nice person, but with all due respect, if therapists trained in dealing with BDD can’t help me to see anything I like about myself chances are neither will anyone on this board. =/ that wasn’t meant to be snarky, just an honest statement, because I REALLY like you and the advice you offer. <3

And I really am glad so many other people can find things unique to them that they love. ^_^

I feel blessed, too, there’s a lot I like..

I’m petite: 5’3 and 105ish, but well proportioned (although I would like a little more in the boob area hehe)

Dark hair and olive complexion

Look younger than I am

Dark eyes & long eyelashes

Smile

Toes & feet (weird i know)

I think besides bigger tatas, the only other thing I’d change is the little bump in my nose.

I like my green eyes and my full lips.

I like my hands, they look like my mom’s.

Despite how weak they are, I like my wrists because they’re very dainty.

I also like the freckles that pop out on my nose in the summer.

Oh, and I like my eyebrows.  It was the first thing that my Fiance complimented me on (weird, I know), but since then, I’ve always thought they were nice.  ๐Ÿ˜›

@imageeksowhat:  I really like you, too!  Your intelligence and insightfulness is obvious.  I’m glad you’re in therapy and listening to an expert and not just us on this board.  You’re way ahead of us already.

And I agree that society places way too much importance on physicality versus a person’s true value and that it’s very damaging.  So, good for you for recognizing that.

In fact, as I was reading this thread, for example, and that some of the Bees have fabulous eyelashes (so jealous!), and some of the Bees have better this or that than I do, I also thought about all my physical flaws.  It was so hard to write my list of positive things!  It took me an hour before I posted, I had to really think about it.

I’m sure you’re an incredibly beautiful woman, and just as beautiful on the outside as you are on the inside.

I love my eyes and so does my Mr. They’re a hazel green with a yellow ring around the pupil but mostly green. People say they look like cat eyes.

I love my hair when it’s long. Everyone tells me the Cherokee comes out and the Irish fights it with my pale Irish skin. My hair is a dark chocolate auburn color naturally.

I have a love/hate relationship with my boobs.

I have a love/hate relationship with my stomach but I know it’s my battle scars from carrying my babies so I love it for that reason. I am walking a half a mile 5 days a week to try and tone it a bit though even though walking kills me.

I love my hands. Love them. They’re elegant and tapered and say so much about who I am. I have loved with my hands, I have held babies with my hands, I have worked side by side with my husband on our cars, on our home and on our garden. I have tended the sick and I have healed boo boo’s. My nails rock ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m pretty proud of my butt and my legs.

I am finally accepting the fact I am short. I am petite. I am who I am and you either love me or go away ๐Ÿ™‚
