No, I don’t have pictures for you all to see (trying to maintain some anonymity), just the ideas.
So we’re trying to decide which picture to use. The original plan was to use the very first picture of us together, a class picture from elementary school the year we met. Thought it would be cute to have that sent out, because we met so very long ago. Then we decided to get engagment pictures done, so we have a ton of great, professional, recent pictures to choose from. What would you ladies choose?

I would pick an engagement picture. It could be difficult for some guests (parents friends or distant relatives) to figure out exactly who is getting married with photos that are decades old.

Are you set on the design of your STDs? If not, you can pick a design that allows for two pictures. Here are some from WPD for inspiration.
WPD – Twice as Nice STD magnets
WPD – Cupid’s Shot STD cards
WPD – Charming Vines STD cards
But if you are set on one design, I would pick the engagement photo for the same reason as PP’s.

I actually think the class pic would be super cute too!! but I guess it depends on if it will fit your theme as well..
I’m not sure I would be that concerned about people knowing who we were as I’m sure your not inviting people that do now know your names and that your planning on a wedding together if they did not recognise you when younger.. 🙂

I really like the class picture idea!

I like the idea of using a STD that allows for both pictures, that would be really cute and very special. However, if you can’t do both, I would use an engagement picture and then find some way to incorporate the class picture into the reception decor.

I love the class pictures idea. So cute and how many people can say that they met so long ago. I would circle both of you on the class picture though. Don’t worry about people not knowing who the STD is for. Presumably anyone being invited knows your name!

@abbie017: Decadesss old? Yikes! We’re not that old haha. The pic is from like 1996. And we look so similar to how we did as children, that when we re-met in 2006 (after 7 years of not seeing each other due to different schools) we recognized each other.
@lilbluebird: Those are so cute! I’ll have to see if it would be possible. In the class pic, we’re not next to each other, so I had envisioned blurring the other kids and putting the words on them to fill up the blank space between us. Basically, I’m not sure if it would be a good size to do both pictures.
@Angkinah: I don’t really know if we have a theme. Love? Us? Are those themes? Haha. It’s going to be on the fancy side, and I suppose our class picture isn’t the fanciest thing on the face of the earth, but it has potential to be cute. And if someone doesn’t recognize our names or our adorable little baby faces, they probably shouldn’t have been invited to begin with haha.
@CaliHoya: Yeah, I was thinking that if the class picture didn’t translate well to a postcard (like if we’re too far apart then we’d have to shrink the picture to fit on a postcard) we could have it on display somewhere at the reception. I just don’t think this picture should be left out.

@Meowkers: Omg that sounds so cute, to circle us! Like “these two are tying the knot!” and then a calendar with the date circled, too. Oh it’d be adorable.
Now, is it possible to print a postcard on both sides? I’ve seen actual postcards that do this, like the glossy pic on one side and then a watermarked type pic on the side where you put the address and your message. Maybe a double sided postcard if a two pic postcard isn’t working out?

@jumpthegun: Ahhh ‘Love’ and ‘Us’ are themes for sure 🙂 Actually I confess I love when couples use old pictures etc as part of their wedding it kind of ‘ties’ their lives together, and old pictures are in my humble opinion very classy and VERY cute..
