I am the oldest of 5.  I am 25, and I have three sisters (22, 20, and 12) and one brother (5).  I am looked at more like a “mom” figure to them sometimes (like they don’t want to tell me things that they don’t think I will approve of…they are silly).  We are all very close, especially my two younger sisters closer in age to me.

@PrncssDva:  I second that…I have always spoiled them!  Especially my 20 year old sister, I would do ANYTHING for her (and it’s a running family joke that she is everyone’s favorite…haha).

I usually have to draw a diagram so people understand, but here goes πŸ™‚

I am the youngest of 4, but the oldest two are from my Dad’s first marriage and they have a different Mom. So no matter how you slice it I’m the youngest, but I’m my Moms 2nd and my Dad’s 4th.

I’ve been spoiled my whole life and luckily now DH has taken over all the spoiling to the relief of my entire family πŸ™‚

OLDEST!

I love being oldest. I have a 17 year old brother. My husband is also the oldest and has a brother who is 22.

Between my parents, I am the only. But my dad had my sister, his love child, when he was 18, so she is 10 years older than me. Also, I have a 15 year old step brother because my mom remarried.

Fiance is an only as well. So thank god for my step and half sibling, or our future children would have no aunts, uncles or cousins!

Biologically speaking I’m the youngest of 4 (with three older brothers). With my step-siblings included (and I do) I’m #6 of 7, with a younger stepsister and two older stepbrothers. DH is the youngest of 3 boys.

I’m the second of 5 kids. The age difference between the oldest and youngest is 15 years. We’re all from the same marriage and we’re not Catholic (I get asked that a lot!).

I’m the oldest of 4 girls (born in 80, 82, 84, and 86).  My dad desperately wanted a boy, and my mom said “no more” after 4 (she was 38 when the youngest was born).  My parents divorced when the youngest was 1, so it was always just the four of us and Mom.  We lost the youngest 5 years ago to a battle with bipolar disorder.

Fiance is the oldest of 2 boys.  He does not understand our family dynamic at all (I’m pretty sure my Brother-In-Law doesn’t either).  He is so confused when the four of us are together because we talk incessantly, talk over each other, and we still understand what everyone else is talking about.

I’m the only. I never wanted siblings and strangely enough, I was only ever friends with other only children (until I got older). I assume its because we all acted the same (like spoiled rotten little biotches – I admit it!).

FI’s side is complicated. He has 1 biological brother who is 3 years older than him, 2 step brothers from his step fathers first marriage (they’re in their mid-late 30’s) and 5 half brothers on his bio fathers side (he hasn’t seen or spoke to any of them, his bio father included, in 15+ years so they are in no way considered family).

There are 7 kids in my family, and I was born first. I have a twin brother, but I always took on the oldest role- the leader and decision-maker. Oldest to youngest we have an 8 year spread.

Birth order is fascinating – there are a ton of studies on it too.  I am 4th out of five.

I have 4 half siblings, and technically have an older half brother, but I was raised as the oldest as I’m the oldest of the siblings that actually lived with the youngsters (my older brother lived wayyy far away with his mom). SO is the youngest of 3 boys πŸ™‚
