So, I’m almost 5 months pregnant (in two days), and have had a pretty uneventful time of it so far. Morning sickness sucked, but that’s pretty much gone, and I haven’t had any other issues. Anyway, they always say that in the second trimester is when you get to have the “perks” from being preggers, like nice hair and skin etc. and I was wondering how many of you are experiencing these lovely perks? Or maybe others? I myself haven’t had much luck by way of hair (I keep it super short), or skin, but DANG do my nails look great! They’re growing all nice and long and not breaking every two seconds!
What lovely perks have you been experiencing? Any?

My nails look really good. But that’s it! Ha. Pregnancy doesn’t really do much for me looks-wise. I just get really swollen and chubby-looking, my skin gets blotchy and gross, and my hair is a mess. Good thing I get a baby at the end of all this! 🙂 I honestly think I have never looked worse than when I’m pregnant.

I’m only 12 weeks, my hubby told me this week my skin is glowing which was sweet to hear. I don’t notice it too much, but he said he hopes his mother doesn’t look at me too closely or she will figure it out.

GooteyBootey: ummm…. 34w tomorrow and all I can say is my nails lol.
I’ve actually had quite a few of the “downsides” happening to me and my DH is always on my case saying “do you have anything GOOD to say?” (more or less thinking Im making the worst of it) and we started our baby classes last week and the instructor asked “so what dont you like about being pregnant?”. All the women proceeded to list off …..then she asked “what do you LIKE abut being pregnant?” …and it was pretty much silent LOL….then finally 2 people piped up and said “when you start to feel the baby move”, and the other “ahhh, the fact you get a baby at the end?”
Dh was like “oh…” hahaha

I think a nice perk (in this wintry weather) is having the husband warm up my car. I’m never in the cold for more than a few seconds. We came back from vacation and he even got the car from the airport parking lot and picked me up from the passenger pick up area. I’m also loving the baby flutters and movement. I’m 20 weeks pregnant and the baby started to really move and let me know when he/she is hungry. Such a cool feeling. I guess this is one of the best perks of being pregnant.

Nails are growing faster and stronger and so is my hair. My hair seems shinier too. DH carries heavy things up stairs and cleans toilets and tubs so I won’t have to be around those chemicals. People seem to be a bit friendlier in public by opening doors more often.

I am 5 months along too, and have not really noticed any perks. My skin has cleared up from the first trimester, but not nearly as nice as it was before pregnancy. My nails are breaking like crazy too. I agree with a PP, right now im thinking that the only plus is getting a baby at the end of this.

15 weeks here so not looking so hot and still vomiting (funnily enough it only started at 12 weeks so cant complain!). Having said that, I love my little bump. I love the fact that I’m minded! I don’t have to do outdoor supervision in work (I’m a teacher!). At home DH minds me and does a lot more house work. So I’m a happy camper 🙂

I’m only 8 weeks but so far I’ve enjoyed not having to clean the bathrooms :p DH insists that he cleans due to the chemicals which is true. I sure don’t mind. Although the MS can go away anytime 🙂

I will be 14 weeks on Saturday and so far haven’t really had any perks. My skin and hair have been terrible. I also have felt that even with make up I have look generally run down. But over the last week I have been starting to feel better so hoping that the 2nd trimester is all it says it will be.
I do enjoy not cleaning the cat litter though.

I’m 36 weeks and know nothing of these “perks” lol. Everything has been pretty easy going so i guess I should be happy I’m having a good pregnancy???

in my second trimester my hair was amazing, nails lovely and my skin was glowing. now at 33 weeks i just look fat ALL over and my skin is blotchy. 🙁

im only 13 weeks and have no experienced any perks. My hair and skin have become super dry, especially my face/forehead, morning sickness sucks.
If I can say this is a perk, it would be that DH pretty much does anytig I ask, no questions. Lol
but physical perks, none

I think what I enjoyed the most while pregnant was, oh that’s right, I don’t think I had any perks per se. My hair got extremely thick (and it was already thick enough) and it became a hassle. My nails grew out the wazoo (and I keep my nails very short for typing), my boobs grew to epic proportions and then I got PUPPPS at the very end 🙁 So for me, pregnancy wasn’t exactly hard, but it just didn’t have any perks.

My migraines have significantly reduced – I used to get them every 2 weeks without fail, but I’ve only had two big ones since getting pregnant (I’m 19w2d now). So that’s pretty awesome. Plus my breasts have gone from a B cup to a D cup already – i think I preferred my old breasts, but it’s nice to get to try out bigger boobs without resorting to plastic surgery. And I’m just getting to the stage where I have a proper bump so I’m enjoying having that.
Edit: Also, stretchy waistbands are awesome!
