Fiance and I are meeting with a minister (who may marry us) on Thursday and i’m just curious as to some of the questions we may be asked. I know most pastors/fathers/ministers put you through some type of “pre-marriage counseling”, and we’re just wondering what to expect. Thanks in advance!

In my case:
They’ll ask about your living situation
They’ll ask about sex
They’ll as about your past
They’ll ask how you came to know the Lord
They’ll ask where you’ve been attending church
They’ll ask about your family
And many other things. Our experience was very bad because the minister said that my dad was not a christian because he was Catholic. While I know that this is not the mindset of all ministers (as a matter of fact not the mindset of most ministers), just wanted to offer some of my experience to you in case you want to prepare yourself for such things. My Fiance and I also live together for medical reasons and he wanted me to move out. Obviously we are not getting married by this minister and have since found a new home church.
I say be prepared for any and everything. When we went in we didn’t know what to expect and the outcome left much to be desired.

also they’ll probably ask about what type of wedding you’ve thought of – the ceremony and such. If you want readings or singing or music.
after you choose who you want they’ll probably ask about the logistics – how many wedding party members, who’ll be walking you down the aisle, flower girl/ring bearer, # of guests expected, time of day, flowers, donations, costs etc!
