I like marquise, pear, asscher and emerald cut diamonds. I love deco jewellery and I really love coloured gemstones with colourless melee- whether it be halos, bezel/pave on the band etc.

the simple, classic solitaire is all the rage here- by far the most common type of ring.

I dig wedding bands with channel set baugettes.  Other people must not like those much because they certainly aren’t very common.  I guess they are a bit of a wasteful way to cut diamonds because they aren’t very sparkly, but I love the clean lines.

@cbgg: Indeed.  This is exactly what I wanted (and got, but went the custom route) and was almost laughed out of several jewelry stores when I inquired about channel set baguettes.  “so dated” “not sparkly” “unpopular” “I’m sure that’s not really what you want…here- let me show you something with more sparkle!”

@LTD418:  thank you for voting for that one! I’m so happy I picked it! And I love your heart shaped stone! I don’t believe it’s juvenille at all, I didn’t realized people thought that. What’s more symbolic of love than a heart lol ๐Ÿ™‚

I love bezels, vintagey looking clusters, princess cuts, and pears, which all seem less popular right now than other styles. I’m also a big fan of mixed metals.

Oh, I also like (and own) channel set bands, because they don’t rub or catch on stuff.

I love love LOVE gaps between the rings in a wedding set. My set was intentionally soldered to KEEP my gap…most people seem to hate them!

I actually really love rings without diamond centers. I really wanted an aquamarine or peach morganite center stone, but my mom kinda put a damper on that when she said “They are pretty, but people won’t know if it is an engagement ring or not.” Well, turns out, people still don’t know if my ring is an enagement ring and it couldn’t be more traditional unless it was a simple solitaire! They actually ask “Oh, is that an enagement ring?” I try to hope it isn’t because it is on the smaller side :/

I am also a huuuuge fan of rose gold, but sadly, my skin is the exact color of rose gold so it would just blend in and no one would ever notice it.

Also, I do love halos. I still want a halo. But I will not get to have a halo because Fiance doesn’t like them at all. He thinks they are too blingy, but I think they are absolutely gorgeous and unmistakably bridal.

I love higher karat yellow gold, and I love marquise and emerald cuts. And while I don’t own one, I have a special place in my heart for marquise wedding sets with wraps with smaller diamonds in them – the ones that most people would identify as “SO ’80’s”. I think they are beautiful. Ones like this:
