Early spring, when there was still snow! It was chilly, although not that bad, but we wanted pictures that looked winter-y since we were having a winter wedding!

We took ours just last week, we won a free photo shoot and got ours done πŸ™‚ I just wanted pictures of us, I didn’t really care about the weather

We took ours a few weeks ago. So mid to late Spring. We had our photographer picked in January but wanted to wait for the weather to get nicer and for green to be in the trees. The setting was lovely with the greenery all around. Plus, there weren’t quite as many bugs out and about when we got our photos done as there might have been in the Summer. The downfall is that it did indeed get somewhat hot. Weather can be sort of unpredictable this time of year (and that is especially true in Indiana). πŸ™‚

Edit: Since another bee posted a few engagement photos, here is a sneak peek our photographer sent to me the other day! That sort of green all around us is exactly what we wanted. πŸ™‚

We did fall! Actually the same weekend our wedding is going to be this year πŸ™‚ It felt more like summer – it was like 80 degrees and sunny. We were hoping for some colorful foliage, but the leaves hadn’t turned yet. We got engaged in September, so it was really our only option bc we didn’t want to do winter. It turned out great! If I could take them at any time, my choices would be (in order): fall, spring (flowers would be gorgeous but there’s a high chance of rain), summer (too humid/hot), winter (too COLD).

I LOVE the green, but it would have looked gorgeous with the colored leaves πŸ™ Maybe we’ll get some foliage for this year!

We did ours in the summer and dependant on where you live, while ours turned out lovely, it was 630 AM when we started and already HOTTTTTTTT. We ended up playing in a fountain to cool off at the end which made some great pictures but goodness it was sweltering.

We are doing ours tomorrow! Really though it wasn’t something we really planned out.  We weren’t going to do them but they came with the package from our photographer and it seems like a good chance to get used to being in front of the camera and photographer.

ETA – okay I guess I should have read the question first!  I like the idea of doing them in the Spring just because it’s not too hot/cold.  My hair gets frizzy in the summer, so hopefully I can avoid that.  Also even though I love a lot of the fall cardigan/boot/jean engagement picture outfits, I’m a sundress girl at heart!

Do summer. We did ours in the winter, too cold, we ended up with in studio photos instead.
