I originally wanted a cushion cut, but fell in love with a setting that had a cushion halo and a round center stone. I get the shape but with more sparkles!
I will say, although I LOVE my ring and would never change it, my second choice would have been an emerald cut. There is something so elegant and classic about them I just love! I might get one as a stand-in ring for the beach 🙂

I chose an Asscher because I love the elegant look of it and the fact that it flashes (even though it doesn’t sparkle as much). I haven’t received my ring yet but I told my SO that that is my biggest wish 😛 although the negative is that since they are a step cut you need to spend a bit more money on them.

Princess cut. I loved my mum’s square cut emerald. I’m always doodling geometric shapes in margins of work books with squares, triangles and stars so makes sense for me!

I got emerald cut. At first, I didn’t really have a preferance but now that I have it, people have been telling me it’s a classic cut which is really nice because I wanted a classy ring.

Round because my good friend and hair stylist went to a highly respected custom jeweler and was told round catches light and sparkles best of all of diamond cuts. I love the simplicity and classic look.

Mine’s princess cut for 2 reasons
1 – DH calls me Princess (in a sweet way,not in a ‘you’re a diva’ way) and thought that it was fitting
2 – I love cushion halos and talking to the store they told me that the princess is less expensive and generally sparkles more than the cushion cut in my setting. so I have a princess cut in a cushion halo.

RB because it’s he sparkliest! I love those splintery rainbow flashes.

I have a round because it’s what I love, and when we went ring shopping, it’s what Fiance and I thought looks best on my finger.

I like Princess and always have. I mentioned it to my fiance before we were engaged without even thinking he was planning on proposing. He picked out the ring and got Princess cut =)

Originally I wanted a pear with a dainty halo on a pave band. He hated the pear shape and I eventually realized the symmetry would bother me. I went with a round. So sparkly and timeless!

Round as it’s SO sparkly. My last ering had a radiant. I like the shape better than the round, but in comparison, it doesn’t sparkle as nice.

I wanted anything except princess cut, because I had a princess cut ring for my first marriage lol. And this time, I got a round 🙂

I originally wanted an asscher with a pave band. However to get the finger coverage I wanted I would need about 8 carats. A little out of our price range! I was also obsessed with OEC as I love the look of antique stones. That’s what we ended up with.

Round brilliant for me because of the sparkle factor, but my heart still skips a beat when i see an emerald cut. I love my ring but wouldn’t turn down an emerald RHR!
