@Lindsy: Thanks, you taught me something new.  I just love diamonds and learning about them!

Mine’s a round cut with 2 smaller stones on the sides and pave diamonds around the band. I actually had nothing to do with the ring choice…my fiance took 2 of my girlfriends with hime shopping and they all did a great job!

Mine is an emerald cut with round side stones.  I like that there is not too much flash in my ring.  I wanted something that says I am taken without drawing everyone’s attention during closing arguments for years to come.

Ha! Yes, MrsCPT. I prefer precision and reflectiveness to glinty sparkly (although such stones are beautiful, too)!! I also have an emerald cut…it is a very difficult shape because of the open facets, it has to be flawless (or near flawless) to shine. So the exactedness/precision of the cutting and the clarity are so extremely important or else it looks cloudy. Unlike other cuts, you cannot really hide inclusions in the facets! So it takes a lot of study to find a high quality emerald shape of the right proportions and weight!  Having said all that, I really love the quality and understated connoisseurship of my stone (which is flanked by thin tapered baguettes a la Harry Winston).

I have a square radiant cut diamond in my ring. I originally wanted an Asscher cut, but when my Fiance went to pick out my ring, everyone told him this stone was the one to get.

My ring is a cusion cut diamond with smaller diamonds in the band.  its very similar to the Tiffany Novo is you have ever seen that ring!  My FH did a fantastic job, especially after searching for the right one for 4 months!!!

My diamond is kind of cushion looking but it has an X cut into the top of it.  It kind of makes it look like it’s 4 peices… like a pie.  Other than the X it’s really flat on top.  It’s a really flat diamond actually… so is that considered a cusion even though the interior is cut a little differently??  Has anyone ever seen anything like that?
