ok so I originally planed on having assigned seating so I made cute little personalized rocks that I painted and then added everyones names to … I was going to place them on seats some how and also have it be a favor.
Due to some other things we are not having assigned seating anymore… so now I have a box full of rocks that my mother and I put alot of time into….
Now I would still love to give them out but there are people who I won’t have personalised ones for- just beacuse people in my circle do not RSVP I so far have only made ones for family and a few other people I knew would be coming… and even some of them are not coming. I’ve thought about just making ones that say love and letting the other people have those but I have no clue how many to make or if that would be rude or still how to get them to those pepole.
I know if I thought about it I could come up with a solution but I have so much other stuff to think about this is the last of my worries …
What would you do?

A couple ideas:
Even though you’re not having assigned seating, can’t people “reserve” their chosen seats using the rocks? I’ve been to numerous weddings with no seating chart, but there are still escort cards so you can claim a seat, but not have to stay there “watching it” until it’s time for dinner. Then, make some extras (without names) so once you get the remaining RSVP’s in them, you can just add names to the already painted rocks.
What about using them in place of a guest book. You’ll already have the person’s name on there, so they can take a fine tipped sharpie (or whatever) and write you a “well wish” on the other side of the rock. You could then display all the rocks in a glass bowl at your house after the wedding.

I love PP’s idea, especially about the well wishing. Maybe have them write one word on the back that is their secret to a happy marriage?
If I didn’t RSVP to a wedding I would not be upset if there was not a personalized stone for me.

@MadTownGirl: I might just have to reserve the first few rows and set the rocks out and then everyone else can sit further back .. its theire fault for not RSVPING!
