I for sure was thinking about the chairs as much as you do. Actually we decided on a more expensive package because this meant we could have wooden chairs and half of the tables being wooden as well. 😉

So, I wouldn’t leave them as they are either. I would go for chair covers and the fabric knots. If this is too expensive, I would only do buy fabric to tie around the tops, but some beige or white ones. (not sure how much that would cost though)

I think they are fine and wouldn’t change them. If you really don’t like them I’d splurge rather than doing chair covers which I always think look awful.

If I was you I’d got to any place that sells fabric and find the color and material I wanted for the chair ties. I’d buy a couple yards  and then basically try to replicate what I wanted on a similar chair. Shouldn’t cost more than $15. I wouldn’t change the chairs ar all though.

Here’s a setup from a place I used to work at. We would do the sashes on the chairs like this sometimes when not using covers.

Nobody remembers or cares about what the chairs look like at a wedding. Save your time and money and don’t give it a second thought.

I was dead set on gold chiavari like in your photo. However they werent as expensive as yours – that’s insane. Also the vendor just delivered them & the venue set them up as part of fee.

Anyway in error we got white chiavari delivered & not the gold ones! We ended up getting a full refund. Free chairs are better than gold ones.

At that cost, I’d just leave the banquet chairs

I am in the minority because I ALWAYS notice chairs. But I don’t think most of your guests would. If the chiavari are too expensive, I would go with the plain white covers and do not add anything else but make sure the white covers are fitted though. hennelady :

I’d leave them as is unless that money is burning a hole in your pocket with nothing better to be spent on.  I personally haven’t seen a chair cover I didn’t think was ugly and knowing people spent money to make them ugly just increases my dislike.  I personally would only splurge and part with my money if it enhanced the comfort and enjoyment of my guests (i.e. the chairs were uncomfortable or not sturdy and have my guests worrying all night they were going to break it).

hennelady :  The chairs provided by the venue work very well with that space. In fact, Chiavari chairs look somewhat out of place with the interior details of your venue. The only thing a bit concerning is the minor stains you noticed on the chairs.

Keep them and don’t worry about it.

Chiavari chairs are very uncomfortable, IMO.

Chair covers are ugly and look like prom.
