I have 32 days to go and need to figure out what to get my FI! I would like to spend less than $500 and need ideas! I’d like to get him something that he will have forever. Below is what I’ve thought of so far, and why it won’t work:
- Cufflinks- Still my top pick, but his best friend got him a pair of Tiffany Globe cuff links when he graduated from law school (she’s a bridesmaid)
- Pen- I got him a Montblanc when he passed the bar
- Briefcase/portfolio- His fraternity brothers got him a super nice one for law school graduation
- Money clip- Doesn’t use one
- Watch- He’s WAY too picky, I wouldn’t be able to pick something he’d like
- Boudoir- I procrastinated. Not enough time to “prepare” and have it done
Ahh! Any ideas would be welcome! Thanks in advance!

I’m getting a special picture put on one of those canvas prints. It’s of the spot where he proposed (he took the picture too) and also across the street from where we’re getting married. It’s a special place for both of us and it being on canvas is something we’ll both cherish for a long time.

this baffles me that brides buy a gift for the groom, imo getting to spend his life with me is enough lol.
although a boudior would be a good gift, i know you don’t have the time….

@sonj818 – Are you sure you don’t have time for the budouir photo shoot??? I had a book made for my husband and he absolutely LOVED it. I took the photos literally 1 month prior to the wedding and my book was ready a few days before the wedding. He said that was the BEST present he had ever gotten. I put off the photo session so I could “lose weight” since that never happened I just went for it anyway and the photos were AMAZING if I do say so myself. 🙂
@stokieGal – As far as giving the groom a gift,I wanted to give him something that would be as awesome & special to him as it was for me to receive my amazing proposal and gorgeous ring. He spent thousands on my ring and I bought him a super simple band since that is what he wanted.

I think a watch is a good idea, just let him pick it out. My Darling Husband is really picky too, so we went out jewelry shopping together and found a watch he loved and a bracelet for me. You could always get him the watch he wants and then secretly get it engraved with a sweet message from you, so there’s a little surprise there?

I don’t know if you’re religious at all but I’m getting my fiance these two matching charms (I’d get one and he’d get one) from James Avery that say “God be with us together and apart”. On the back I’m having our names and wedding date engraved. My fiance hates jewelry so I decided to put his charm on a keychain. I’m excited to give it to him!!!

I’m not getting a gift for my groom and he most likely won’t get a gift for me. The wedding is a big enough expense for all of us. Paying for parents gifts and bridal party gifts, It all adds up too quickly. I’m planning on having a boudoir shoot RIGHT after the wedding and saving it for our 1 year anniversary. You can always schedule a boudoir shoot after the wedding and send him an iou kinda haha that way he knows hes getting a gift and it might make him more excited and buy you some time to do the shoot

Boudoir… he’s a guy- he will appreciate this more than anything money can buy, trust me.

How about asking a friend to take BDP of you, sort of DIY? You’d have time for that and would save $$ 😉

I’m getting married on October 29th too! I’m still trying to decide what to get for my fiance 🙁 Originally I was going to get him a kegerator (something he wants and would love), but I’m not sure our place will have enough room for one, especially because his brother just built him a bar as a wedding gift. Now I’m thinking I will get him a decanter and a nice bottle of liquor to put in it. I would get it engraved with our wedding date. I like the budoir shoot but I think my fiance would be like “who photographed this?” I think the budoir shoot would be such a cute idea for an anniversary!!
