I just found out TODAY that my cousin is getting married next Monday, and that my fiance and I are invited.
I did not receive a formal invitation; he simply told my grandparents the news and they have been charged with the task of gathering the family together. He has given no guidelines on dress code. All I know is that he will be wearing his military uniform and it will be outdoors at a park.
Nobody knows what to wear, and since he told my grandparents to spread the word, nobody can reach my cousin. He is on vacation with his fiancee (a pre-honeymoon, I suppose).
I’m thinking I need something versatile and understated so as to be prepared for either possibility (formal or casual). Also, I’m on a very tight budget. I can’t go over $30.
I’m thinking of this one, from Aeropostale:
My fiance prefers this one, also from Aeropostale:
I feel that the first one would work better. Lace is a little dressy, but the color and cut are sort of casual. If you have any suggestions, please let me know; I am going to the mall on Tuesday to see if I can find anything.

I love both of them, where are they from?

@peachacid: Sorry, I just edited the post. Both are from Aeropostale.

I think the first one can be dressed up or down with accessories. If it is more formal, wear pearls or rhinstones (Try Wedding Factory Direct online, great inexpensive jewlery) if it is more casual, wear sandals.

Casual, last minute wedding in the park? Definitely the second dress. The lace on the first one makes it way too dressy for the occasion, unless you dress it way down- maybe with a metallic flip flop?

Thanks for your answers. everyone! I think I might get the first one.

I would wear the first one because it is dressy and casual at the same time. That way, if people are dressed up you would fit in, and vice versa!

I like the first one and think it will be more flattering!

First one! I agree that you could pair accessories with it that will flatter the dress and make it look more formal.

I love the first dress. The detail on the second dress makes it very casual to me and might be difficult to dress up, where as the first dress could easily be dressed down with sandals and a colored cardigan.
