my wedding is not for another year, but I’ve already chosen my dress and it got me thinking- what do i need to wear under it? In the store, they had me wear a petticoat (not a hoop) and a bustier. Is this what I should wear on my wedding day too? I guess I always imagined wearing lingerie, but that may be impractical. Do most people change into something sexier before the wedding night? My dress has a corset style drop waist, but nothing sown into the bust and I have a fairly large chest- 38D
Also where should I look to buy these things? I want to avoid buying form the dress shop because i’m afraid it will be expensive. I am even trying to find my dress used somewhere else if I can. Any suggestions would be appreciated

I would change into lingerie later – I imagine it would be uncomfortable under most dresses. My dress was very fitted, so there was no room to wear anything underneath aside from seamless panties. I had cups sewn in. Depending on how structured the dress is, some people go with shapewear underneath. Best of luck!

Go with practical/supportive shape wear under your wedding dress and then lingerie after the wedding. I’m wearing a simpler, flowier dress for my reception which I can pretty much get away with wearing any time of lingerie under.

My alterations will be free. Grooms mom is a seamstress. I like the idea of having cups sown in. Then I dont have much to worry about. I’m not even sure i’ll wear shapewear since the sorset sucks me in so much haha. thanks for the input!

Cups sewn in would be good. If you’re not wearing shape wear, just a comfy pair of undies will do. I just wore a thong under my dress and changed into lingerie later. I had a strapless ball gown

You can purchase a hoop or crinoline through ebay or amazon. The hoop will give more airflow and keep fabric off your legs. Your tailor will have cups. Just wear a pair of nude or white underpants and if you want some hosiery.

So… I got a pair of white lace panties and the wedding dress did the rest. Your husband doesn’t need lingerie if he’s anything like mine, though I’m not about to go into details.

I would wear shapewear. And I would not want to wear lingerie all day and then wear it for my wedding night. I would prob want to rinse off and then put on the lingerie.

I wore a regular thong and that’s it. My dress had cups sewn in. I had a bath after getting out of my dress. I was filthy and sweaty from dancing all night!
