So I have decided to go with a country themed wedding. The girls will be wearing blue/turquoise sundresses with brown boots and I will also be wearing boots under my dress. But I have no idea what the men should wear and what will look good with what the girls are wearing….. I do know I would like them to wear boots and would also like the groom to wear boots but im totally lost on if the should wear jeans and button ups and the groom in a tux (the groom wants to wear a black tux) or what I just dont know PLEASE HELP someone!! It will be greatly appreciated.

I was going to suggest a tan/khaki suit, but you said the groom wants to wear a black tux…I think it would look a little odd for the guys to all wear jeans and boots then the groom wear a tux. I think he’d look a lot more formal than the other guys. Is he dead set on a wearing a tux? And on black?

It is a bit of a contrast in levels of formality to have the groom in a tux and the groomsmen in jeans, but probably no more than the bride in a wedding gown and the bridesmaids in sundresses. If the bride is in a formal dress I see no reason the groom can’t wear a tux.
The men could wear jeans, black boots and black button ups to match the color the groom is wearing. Or, they could wear jeans, black boots and vest, and a shirt that has the blue/turquoise of the BM’s dresses.

@ARegister: I am literally in the exact same position. I am wearing a full length wedding dress, and he is DEAD set on wearing a tux. My BMs are most likely wearing denim, layered, short dresses. I want the GMs to kinda match the BMs in denim jeans and boots, and possibly vests or blazers. Will that look way to stupid? We are having just a cutsy country backyard wedding..

I vote for tan/khaki as well! I think that would match perfectly with your country theme. The groom and groomsmen can still wear tuxes, and after the pictures, they could change into “tux” t-shirt & jeans and wear boots to the reception. Just saw this idea on Pinterest so it’s fresh in my mind!
