So we are considering having a small outdoor wedding at a local chapel. It’s the first marriage for both of us but we want to keep things simple. We plan to have a reception(100-125)several weeks after the wedding. My dilemna is I’m not sure what to do about food after the ceremony. I’d like to keep the actual ceremony small and to immediate family and close friends so probably around 30-35 people.
Any ideas? I was thinking about renting a room at a local restaurant but we’re open to other ideas. Considering we still have a reception to pay for, I’d like to try and keep costs down as much as possible but wouldn’t feel right just letting everyone leave after the ceremony with feeding them.

We are having a small wedding of immediate family only, about 10 people, and we decided on coming back to our home and grilling out! We are having Hamburgers, hotdogs, bbq, potato salad, baked beans, slaw, etc and homemade ice cream. It won’t cost that much and everyone loves a good grill out 🙂

@Nextbride41: etiquette does require that you serve some refreshments and a snack after. what about a cake and punch mini reception immediately following?
It would be cheap, cheerful, and fufill all of your hosting duties. if you decide to go this route, it wll need to be at a non meal time. if you want something at a meal time, many restaurants will let you serve a fixed menu at aprice point you are comfortable with.

I’d do a local restaurant, byob to keep the cost down. Doesn’t have to be anything super fancy.
