Our third-hand, full size mattress has gotten us through the last five years (barely) but it has definitely seen better days.  We have dreams of a queen size bed, but it is the thing that keeps getting pushed farther and farther back when new things come up (car problems, moving, the wedding!).

I used to have two twin mattresses together (which is a king size, I believe), but a year or two before I met my fiance, I decided I didn’t need a super large bed long term, and bought a full sized bed.  Little did I know two years later, I’d be moving in with a guy and the bed really is a bit too small – especially considering we’re both big people.  I think a queen would be perfect for us – though whenever we stay in a hotel with a king size bed, I still always sleep curled up on the edge, and he wakes up in the middle of the night ’cause I’m not right next to him and he thinks he’s kicked me off the bed!

We have a king sized bed and couldn’t have it any other way. We have 2 pugs who insist on sleeping in the bed, so that’s that. πŸ™‚

We slept in a twin for the first couple years.  I have no idea how we did it, and our cat always slept on me!  But now we have a queen, and it works, but our cat seems to think all the extra space is for her.  I think a king would be a nice investment, with me wanting another cat, and a couple dogs, and children in the future, you need a nice big bed!

The Fiance and i share a full bed.  I actually just brought this subject up a few nights ago. I thought one day we would upgrade the size of our bed, but Fiance doesn’t want to.  He’s afraid we will be too far away. We have never really had a space problem, but I’m still guessing one day we will upgrade.

@sage: your comment cracks me up!!!! As I posted before, we have the same issue, but you did such a better job of putting it into words than I could ever have thought up!!! A pencil or a pretzel!!! I mean that is so true. How I sleep is all up to our big dog. If he wants to lay out longways, I go pencil. If he decides he wants to go sideways, I go pretzel. I know I’m going to LOL when we get in bed tonight and I think about this. Can’t wait to tell FI! Laughing

Ha! Love all the stories of the pets in bed. lol We both have twin beds right now. But we’re closing on our house next week & will be bringing a Queen with us. So hopefully it’s big enough or we’ll be saving for a King!

We have a queen, but I’d give anything for a King! We’re not even the biggest people either, it’s just waay nicer to have more space. I am kicking myself for not just buying myself a King years ago instead of a Queen, it was the biggest mistake I’ve evermade. I’ve never lived in an apartment too small for a King (and probably never will) and now it’s going to be so expensive for us to upgrade πŸ™

We have a CA King… and adore it! We had a queen, but being tall, we’d beat each other up in bed. Now, we have a dreamy matress where we don’t even feel the other person move. πŸ™‚

My brother actually built our big wooden bed as a wedding present, so we had no choice but to get a CA King mattress. πŸ™‚

We used to have a full which the SO was nottt fond of. He’s not one to cuddle (bah humbug) and did not like being so crunched up in the bed but we didn’t really have a choice bc of money constraints. Budgeting for a bed just wasn’t in the cards. Luckily one of our friends works for a local furniture company and had a perfectly fine KING matress/bed set to get rid of aka for FREE!!! We’ve been sharing the King for about a year and a half…now our only problem is sharing the covers! πŸ™‚

Ahh!  This topic hits close to home atm.  Mr. Doxie and I are currently in a full bed, and it’s miiiiserable.  With Mr. D being nearly 7ft tall, it just doesn’t work.  Not to mention we have two bed-hogs as pets.  We cannot wait to get a Cal King!

We have a queen. Our Furbabies (all 3) like to sleep with us, so sometimes it feels to small! We’re planning on getting a new bed soon since mine is so old. Hopefully we’ll be in a bigger place so we can have a king! lol.

We love our full. We travel a lot, and the king beds they have in hotels always make us feel like we are a million miles away from each other. I have to roll over and fling my arms out to make sure he’s even there. Our full is perfect for cuddling and still gives us room to have our own space. I’m surprised so many people find a full to be miserably small, but I guess I’m a pretty petite person and my fiance isn’t a particularly tall guy either. Now, once our [email protected] cat and our growing puppy learn to exist in the bed at the same time instead of taking turns, we might have issues. We’ll see.

Eesh, I joined just to post in here. My wife and I (married for 6 months) have to get REALLY CLOSE, we SHARE a TWIN size bed! and I’m 6’5″

Not by choice by any means! We got married 5 days after knowing each other in august, planned on moving out together but a month in both of our jobs fell through.. So as much as we would like to upgrade to a Full size bed, we have to make due. Lately I have just been staying up all night while she sleeps, and then switch in the morning. When we do sleep together I can tell you my back is up against the wall, I have to sleep on my side and have about a foot and a half of space to myself…
