I wear between a size 4.50 to a 5 depending on the width of the ring and time of year.

Here is a 1.57 carat.

And here is a 1.67 tcw with a 1.24 center

This my cz “tester” ring, 3.5 cts on size 4.5. It’s a 9mm stone. I love big rocks! Definitely start with a budget and go from there.

I am a size 4.25, and I have been wondering the same thing, kenz! I finally just went ahead and pinned ALL the OEC’s I love from my favorite vendors, from size .5 to a 2.25 (low color, low clarity, so reasonable price) because I realized I have NO idea of the boyfriend’s eventual budget. He has a trustfund and comes from a wealthy family, so he may want to go crazy, BUT he doesn’t make a humongous salary and our friend group is much more humble, so he may prefer to go small.

I am absolutely in LOVE with the OEC faceting, so in my mind the bigger the better. Honestly, if we went with the 2.25, lots of his friends would probably think it was gaudy, but the ring is for the man and the woman who are getting married – they are the only people who matter. Because of my OEC love, the 2.25 would be my ideal, but I would even be incredibly happy with the .5, which could later be turned into a pendant if we ever decided to do the “upgrade” thing.

But I’ve already told him I want to be involved in the ring selection. I will ask him for his budget and then pick the best stone that fits within that, with room for a setting.

Here is a pic of a 2 ct on a 4.25 finger
