Just had one of my showers yesterday, it was so much fun! I got some 3 month clothing and some 3-6 month clothing. The 3 month seems so tiny and I know they grow fast, but I was wondering if the baby ends up being 7 or 8 pounds will the 3 months be big enough for the first 2 months or should I take them back and get all 3-6 months? THanks!

Honestly, we have very, very little NB size clothing. We focused more on 0-3 and 3-6. We expecting LO to be 9-10lbs, so we doubt she will ever fit into the teeny stuff and we’re expecting her to outgrow 0-3 decently quickly.
I think it really just depends on the kids. I have 2 good friends. One’s son was always right on track with his age and the size and the other one have a 2 1/2 year old son and a 5 month old daughter and they are both WAY bigger than the “suggested” sizes (The boy is in 4T-5T and the girl is in 9-12 months.)

I would only get a coming home outfit in NB. And stick with 0-3. If the baby is on the smaller size then you can go pick up more, but at least you aren’t wasting too many outfits if they don’t fit. We ended up having to get premie clothes for the first couple weeks for my 2nd. You just never know until you see them 🙂

@MacFaniam24: With my DS I didn’t have enough NB size clothes. He was little only 6lbs. and didn’t move up to 3 month clothing till he was 6 weeks old. It all depends on the size of your baby. Try to get 3 month sizes and a few NB sizes. If you don’t have enough you can always get some things when LO arrives.
