I’m thinking of renting a dance floor for our reception space, but am not sure what size I’d need; the event rentals website i’m looking at has them starting at 12×12 and they go up from there.
we’re having a pretty small wedding (~100ish people) so don’t need something huge. Is a 12×12 a good size? since it’s the smallest option on the site, i don’t want it to look like a little postage stamp in the middle of a big room.
if you rented a dance floor for your wedding, do you remember the size you used?

Type the question “What size dance floor do I need” into Google, and a lot of rental sites come up with suggestions on how to calculate it! 🙂 The rental company you’re buying from should be able to make a recommendation too!
This site was pretty straight forward and says that 12×12 should work for you! http://www.dancedeck.com/calculate.php

yeah the rental company should tell you. Looks like I used 15×20 for about 100 people. I don’t remember it being too big or small. Apparently you don’t want to go too big or it looks empty? I remember finding that surprising when I learned that.

I’m having 12×12, but I’m only having about 70 people. If you can do 16×16 or equivalent, that would probably be ideal.
