I am 5’7″ and around 160 lbs. My wedding dress is a Maggie Sottero size 12. I am aiming to lose some weight before then, but it won’t make much of a difference because my dress has a corset top 🙂

@misskittykakes: I’m 5’2″, 114 pounds, and I got a Monique Lhullier in a size 4.  They said I was in b/t a 2 and 4 so best to order a 4 and go from there.

im about 121 and 5’5.. street siz usually a 2, but for some reason my dress was an 8! the hips/waist size of the dress matched up with my measurements, but the chest is going to have to be taken in a lot.

i’m a bit confused, because the sample was a size 10 and was HUGE. hopefully the 8 is ok (i know it will have to be taken in a bit)

the bridal salon did say it could be taken in up to 3 sizes smaller if needed.. so im sure it will all work out! i just thought i would be more around a size 4 or 6!

5 ft 7 in and around 150 lbs. My dress was ordered in a size 6 but it’s not fitted in the hips or else it would be larger, haha.

Very tricky one, this… unless you are very very big or very very tiny, you may find that your dress size bears little resemblance to your weight. For example, I am 5 feet 0 inches tall. During my adult life I have been:

7 1/2 stone and a UK size 4 (I think that’s a US size 0).
9 1/2 stone and a UK size 6/8 (US 2/4)
10 1/2 stone and a UK size 10/12 (US 6/8)
8 1/2 – 9 stone and a UK size 8 (which I think is about what I am now… I need to weigh and measure myself next week when I have access to a tape measure and scales).

Be careful… it’s not just fat that contributes to your size, shape and weight, it’s muscle too… that’s why BMI is a terrible, terrible tool for saying what your correct weight should be. When I weighed 7 1/2 stone I looked terminally ill. I had a head that was too big for my body and I was all bones. At 8 stone and a muscular UK size 4/6, I looked the best I’ve ever looked in my life. BMI says… almost no difference between the two!

i’m 5 10, and in Alfred Angelo I was a 12, David’s Bridal I was a 14, and in PC Marys I was a 10 (my street size ^_^) But the PC Marys was the corset back, so THAT could have something to do with it.

I’m 5’6 and sitting at 157lbs right now.  My dress (Alfred Sung 6836) is a size 12, but needs to be taken in at the bust and hemmed. I wear between an 8 and a 10 in normal clothes.
