I have a 9 cup and I loooove it. Keep in mind with food processors you can’t fill them to the top with ingredients. With my experience, the big one is nice because you don’t have to empty it out as much. dry ingredients can be filled to the top but anything liquid can only be filled about 1/4 to 1/3 full.

I wouldn’t get a mini one. I had one once and the motor burned out really quickly and it just stopped working. You may not be using it to make a large batch of anything, but the mini kind can’t handle much.

I have the Cuisinart mini and it’s been really handy for chopping a few cups of nuts, or pureeing small amount of fruit/veggies.  It was only about $20 and I’ve had it for many years without problem.  But it’s just one spinning blade at the bottom, it doesn’t have the full functionality of a larger food processor like shredding, slicing, and evenly pureeing large batches.  So if you’re looking for those functions, I’d register for a traditional, larger food processor.  I’ll invest in one someday 🙂

It really depends on what you’re using it for. I have a Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer, which seems to work for a lot of the large projects I used to use a food processor for.

I just have a mini-food processor attachement for my immersion blender. It’s perfect for most jobs that need a food processor… Like pesto. I don’t have space for a large one!

We currently have a mini one, and get annoyed with it frequently. You just can’t fit much in it. We’re registering for the 9-cup one and I really hope we get it! But we cook a lot so I guess it depends on how much you guys cook.
