I’m 5’6 and a street size 10. My dress a Maggie Sottero was bought in a size 10 and fit exactly like my street clothes. My problem area is my thighs and my dress is a fit and flare so in the thighs it fit slightly tighter where as the bust, waist etc fit perfectly. It really depends on the designer of the dress how it fits, some designers run small while others don’t. Just know that if you are a size 4 in street clothes but end up buying a dress in a size 10 you don’t need to start starving yourself. Its just the designer.

I’m a street size 0 and a size 2 for my Blue by Enzoani dress. It really all depends on the designer though. I have a friend who’s a street size 0 and got a size 6 gown by a completely different designer.

I’m a US street size 0-2 but got a UK size 8 in my Packham gown. It will be altered to approximately a size 7 since I’m in between sizes. I’m 5’5 btw.

 I am 5’7, and a street size 6, but dress size 8 for my Casablanca (though it is a little big).

I wear a 0 if the brand makes it, otherwise 2 or 3. I bought a wedding dress at size 4 which was the smallest my designer made,still had to take it in quite a bit so it seems that there was no difference in my street size to my wedding dress. My designer is Kenneth  Winston private label by g.

I’m 5’6″ street size 8 and had to order a 14 due to my large ribcage!

I’m 5’4 and street-size 0/2, the wedding dress designer only goes down to a 2 which is supposed to be equivalent to a street-size 0 but they still have to take it in a bunch. it may also depend on the silhouette you’re going for though!

I’m all over the place in street size, average size 0 I guess, the smallest sizes that Sophia Tolli dresses come in is a 2, so that’s what I’m getting but it needs some pretty decent alterations.  I have no idea what dress size I’d ACTUALLY need if they made all the sizes.   I’m 5’4″ and 100 lbs post-baby.   I’ve heard that Maggie dresses and Alfred Angelo dresses run  closer to street sizes than most other designers.

I’m a size 0/2 typically and the measurements of the Maggie gown put me at a 2 based on waist, 6 based on breasts, and 8 based on hips (I tend to wear a size 4/6 in jeans). I ended up with the size 8 because of the hips, and i’m 5’6″. We’ll see how it actually turns out when I get it in January!

@patchy:

I hope it’s the same for the next baby too!   I was 120 lbs on the day I gave birth, lol.   I’m pretty fit, I dance 3-4 times a week, plus a couple of other fitness classes and stuff, I credit keeping my activity level the same during my preganacy.   I looked kind of funny at my ballroom dance classes with my big belly but my balance wasn’t thrown off 🙂

I’m 5’4″ and am usually a 2 or 4 in regular clothes. My wedding dress was orderEd in a size 8 and altered down. my gown was Paloma Blanca. Most of the samples I tried on we’re size 10. The only place I was close to my street size was at David’s Bridal but I’d heard their dresses are sized more like normal clothes.

Totally depends on the designer and your body.  I am a street size 10 in pants, 12-14 in dresses (due to boobs).  Wedding dress sizes, barely in a 14 due to boob measurement… but my waist and hips were both in lower sizes, so those areas will need to be altered down.
