michellelynn9175 :  I’m torn. The model’s finger has much more real estate between her palm and her first knuckle than you do. So, While I like the larger size on you width wise I don’t like how it’s creeping into the knuckle area. Is that the band you’ll be wearing with it or are you going to be getting one more like in the photo? Also, will there be a gap or will the stone be raised so your band and ER can sit closer? Sorry for all the questions. Just trying to visualize it correctly. In general I say go big, or go home!wink

I think the first pic looks good. It looks well proportioned on your finger. Love the Daussi ring, too, btw.. I eyed up that one in the store but ultimately went with Daussi’s AMDM ring.

michellelynn9175 :  This is the only one I have at the moment– we had to get the setting completely remade because my finger was too small for it to be sized down (I’m a 3.75). We should have it back by the end of next week! Center stone is 0.7, total carat weight 1.31.

I have the same size ring finger..I started with a 2.5 carat center stone.. I went to a 4 carat center, then an almost 6 carat center.. and I’ve had every carat inbetween.  Diamond and Moissanite.  And honestly? The 3-4 carat range is perfect.  Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE wearing a boulder and I will never say no to mt everest on my finger.  But I *always* go back to my 3 carat centers..they are the perfect coverage and are easy to stack or wear alone.  Once you go bigger than that.. everything tends to just get chunky and heavy sometimes.  And for the days your finger swells [if you have those problems] the lighter the ring the easier it is to wear.  Just my 2 cents.

Well I won’t bore you with all the renditions but you’ll get the sense of what I’m talking about after you see the transition here-so the 4ct moissanite is here:

And this was a 6ct emerald cut cz

And there are so many more that I just can’t sift through at the moment-BUT this is the all time hands down favorite-and I should have never sold it.  But there weren’t enough fingers and after the diamonds came along it didn’t get much use-the 3ct moissanite.

I did the paper thing when picking out my ring, just like you… What I neglected to think about was that the stone sits much higher than the paper did and my stone looks A LOT bigger than it did with the paper! I originally went with an 8.5 mm and, the jeweler couldn’t get the color I wanted (fancy yellow), so my options were 8 mm or 9 mm… I went with the 8 and I am SO HAPPY I did. The 8 is almost too big, but I’m so happy I didn’t go bigger. FYI – my finger is a size 7.
