Snack/cocktail size.  You’ll need twice as many but it’s better to have small plates and encourage seconds than big plates that can get heaped high before others get a chance at the food.

5″ plate might be better than 7″. The smaller the plate, the bigger your appetizers will look on them,and the easier it is for guests to balance them on top of a cocktail glass.
