I usually err on the half size larger, plus some inserts for my shoes, like heel pads or something. I’m a 10, though, and my wedding sandals were like, 1/8th inch thick. Very flat sandals.

Zappos has free shipping both ways–get both, wear them around the kitchen, see what fits the best. Then try them on when your feet are WARM and see what fits.

I’m somewhere between a 5 and a 5 1/2, but I buy 5 1/2s because they’re more common and one of my feet tends to blister with a size 5. (I guess I have slightly different sized feet?)

One warning about buying shoes in a slightly larger size for your wedding: I did this for FSIL’s wedding because I found a gorgeous pair of consignment shoes in a 6, and was told that designer shoes ran small. They don’t run small enough, and I had a hard time walk down the aisle without concentrating very hard! They were d’orsays, and my foot slid a lot. It’s too bad because I love those shoes!

Good luck! I can definitely commiserate! Also, mothers are like that, I hate it! Mine tells me I should think about “toning up my arms” – I’m a small person and she never has been – I think all mothers are just super critical. 😛

I had to order up a half size for my wedding shoes, including the ones I tried on from Zappos. The other thing to consider is that at the end of the day, your feet will probably swell from the heat and having to wear the shoe all day. Mine are 3″.

Good luck on finding your shoes. I bought a size 8. I have very skinny feet and don’t want my toes sliding to the edges, lol My heels are like 3 1/2 inches.

I would order a size larger and the size of at Zappos since they have free shipping and they are great about returns.

I normally wear a size 6, but I ordered a 6.5 from zappos because some of the reviews said they ran a tad bit small. The 6.5 fit perfectly 🙂 I definitely recommend reading the reviews on the shoes that you decide to buy. Some run small and some run big. The other buyers should be able to navigate your decision with their reviews. My shoes were 4”.

There are always shoe inserts that you can put in- my mom does this all the time because she wears size 5.5 and sometimes shoes start at size 6.  She pops in one of those sole inserts and they fit perfectly, plus the added bonus of the extra comfy sole!

And I agree with Lilyfaith- sometimes moms just are like that.

I would order both sizes and see which one is more comfortable.  You might try them on at the end of the day too; I know that my feet are always swollen after a day on them and I figure that’s what they will be like after a few hours of wedding day activities!
