@Catgal3:  YES to that rice cooker! I love mine. PErfect rice every time. I can measure it out and turn my back on it.

When I had to cook it on the stove it was always boiling over, making a mess, ugh.

@FauxPas2012:  Put a wooden spoon over the opening of your pot. It won’t boil over.

I have a toaster, a blender, a food processor, a microwave, and a mixer. Instead of an electric griddle, I would use a grill pan because it takes up a lot less space

@Catgal3:  I voted for a mixer (I love my stand mixer!! I can’t imagine not having one; it is essential to me for making bread and many baked goods) and a small chopper, and other. I guess what I really meant by the small chopper and other votes was that I recommend a stick blender that has blender, chopper jar, and whisk attachments. My SO and I got one of these even before we moved in together, and we find it essential to easily making soup. But I guess your daughter already has a blender, so perhaps it is not necessary depending on what they tend to cook.

Something else that I use quite a bit that I haven’t seen mentioned in an electronic pressure cooker.  I LOVE it.  🙂
