- Wedding: May 2012
I’ve been told I should end the night with an upbeat, fun dance song… buuuuuut (there’s always a but)… here’s my story!
My Fiance HATES to dance, and I loooooove it. I’ve been teasing him for years that the only time I will make him dance with me is at our wedding – and after 5 years I have held true to this promise! I know in the end, he won’t really dance with me at the wedding (except for our first dance) and we’re both okay with it. I would love for the last song to be “save the last dance for me” (the old school Drifters verison, not the Michael Buble version). Aside from the fact that I have always loved this song, it just seems so fitting to end the night with Fiance and I dancing together to this song.
What do you think? Is anyone else being picky about what your last song will be?
Here’s some lyrics in case you haven’t heard this wonderful song… listen to it on youtube if you haven’t!!
“Oh, I know that the music’s fine like sparkling wine go and have your fun
Laugh and sing but while we’re apart don’t give your heart to anyone
But don’t forget who’s taking you home and in whose arms you’re gonna be
So darlin’, save the last dance for me
Baby don’t you know I love you so
Can’t you feel it when we touch
I will never never let you go, I love you oh so much
You can dance go and carry on till the night is gone and it’s time to go
If he asks if you’re all alone can he take you home you must tell him no
‘Cause don’t forget who’s taking you home and in whose arm’s you’re gonna be
So darlin save the last dance for me.”
