i haven’t really decided which song to walk down the aisle to. i really have my heart set on one song but the lyrics are so tragic and sad that i’m not sure if it’s appropriate…even though it’s in an entirely different language so i don’t think anyone in my family or FI’s family or our friends would even know what it’s saying. i just think the song is so beautiful and soft…if you wanna take a listen and let me know what you think, it’s la noyée by serge gainsbourg.
so bees, what song did you walk down the aisle to? or what song are you planning to use? i would love to hear!
I’m walking down to “Wonderful Tonight,” originally done by Eric Clapton, but we’re using the one done by the Vitamin String Quartet (it means a lot to my dad). My friend walked down to “Faithfully” done by the Vitamin String Quartet.
Me and fi are rockers.. so we couldn’t choose just any sappy song. We did tone it down to what we normally love though.. [he’s into heavy metal, i’m into metal-core].
Me & my girls are walking down to a piano version of theory of a deadman’s “all or nothing”.
I love a lot of versions of songs that “The Piano Guys” do. Particularly, “a million years” – that will likely be our first dance. Cannot figure out the aisle song so just posting here to come back and see what every one else is up to!
@Jabberwocky: I’m biased since Jurassic Park is one of my favourite movies of all time – despite my friend always telling me about all its inaccuracies – but love love love your song choice.
@oishiioishii: I’m going to echo the other PPs’ suggestion about finding an instrumental version of the song. I’ve always wanted to walk down the aisle – and I will in fact – to Bittersweet Symphony. But to make it more wedding-appropriate, I’ll just have the instrumental version.
Slightly unrelated but I found an orchestral cover of the Game of Thrones theme song and I really want it to play as our parents and the bridal party walk down, but after the Fiance and I watched South Park’s awesome rendition of it, he can no longer listen to the original without thinking of wieners
I am walking down the aisle to “Beautiful” by Jim Brickman.
No wedding march, I actually gonna have a little boy (even if he doesn’t say it.) ring a bell, and yell out “Here comes the bride!” before I walk down (saw it in a youtube video) not sure he will actually do it but if not. He will also have a bell to ring.
Most of our songs are old jazzy kind of songs. I’m still trying to find one for the mothers/grandmas to walk down that fit our style of the wedding.
@oishiioishii: We’re walking in to Bread’s Make It With You. Then we’ll be walking out to Queens of The Stone Age’s Make It Wit Chu. I like the duality of it, plus it’s very much Fiance and I.
Wedding: April 2014 - Customs House Resturant Geelong
@Miss Circe: Do you have a link to Game Of Thrones instrumental theme song? That would be great. I’m trying to find the iron throne to hire, for my Fiance to sit in during our reception.
