Everyone except me walked down to Maestro by Hans Zimmer (it’s in The Holiday).  I walked down to Vitamin String Quartet’s version of Hallelujah by Paramore.

I FINALLY decided this week that I’m walking down to Iron & Wine’s cover of Such Great Heights.  It was  so hard to pick.  I had it narrowed down to that, Northern Sky by Nick Drake, Real Love performed by Regina Spektor or God Only Knows performed by Ben Kweller.

@SoonToBeeMrsD:

OMG THANK YOU FOR THIS POST. I LOVED THEIR MUSIC!

Fiance & I were getting ready to send our deposit $350 to a local string trio but after listening this their music, I’m going to skip the $1000 string trio for 2.5 hrs & buy this music to be played while guests are seated at the ceremony & cocktail hour.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

The Vitamin String Quartet’s version of Eric Clapton’s “Wonderful Tonight.” It’s beautiful. We’re doing an all VSQ ceremony as well!

I’m really thinking about the theme song from Anne of Green Gables for my walk. It is so beautiful and makes me think of romance and innocence. Love it and Fiance actually gave it a thumbs up.

@Kristen0128: You are so welcome! I love VSQ so I’m glad to have shared it with other brides! I can’t wait to hear what songs you choose for your ceremony!

I was thinking of walking down the aisle to “No Air” by Jordin Sparks and Chris Brown. It was my mother’s favroite song — she passed away in December and we think it would be a nice way to honor her at the ceremony.

Question, not meaning to threadjack, sorry.

A song like Canon in D (I haven’t picked a song yet, so still learning)

The song is 5+ minutes, can my girls walk down to this, then me, or do they, and then me need two distinct songs?

I won’t lie, *I* don’t think I care, but would it be better to have two different songs?

@RingPup: Different brides do it different ways.  If you like the song and you don’t care about song-sharing, then do it.  Many brides do want a separate, “special” song just for them.  A break in the music between the bridal party and then when you, as the bride, make your entrance can help create some anticipation and drama to the moment.  But, really, it’s your day so do what you want!

(I personally had a really hard time choosing what song to use, so it worked for me to be able to choose two songs- one for my girls to walk to and one for me… that way our guests got to hear both!) 🙂
