I walked down the aisle to “I’m Yours” by Jason Mraz.  It was originally going to be our first dance song but when we decided not to have dancing, I still wanted it incorporated into the wedding somehow.  I loved it. Smile

“fresh Feeling” by Eels. The lyrics are awesome

You don’t have a clue,
what it is like
to be next to you.

I’m here to tell you,
that it is good,
that it is true.

Chorus:
Birds singing a song,
old pain is peeling,
this is that fresh
that fresh feeling.
Words can’t be that strong,
my heart is real,
this is that fresh,
that fresh feeling.

Try, try to forget,
what’s in the past,
tomorrow is here.

Love, orange sky above,
lighting your way
there’s nothing to fear.

Chorus

Some people are good,
babe in the hood,
so pure and so free.

I make a safe bet,
you’re gonna get,
whatever you need.

Chorus

@Ms. Sparkles: Thanks for this tip! I didn’t realize they’d done U2 covers. I might just have found my song! This is just beautiful!

I was originally wanting to walk to an instrumental version of The Way I Am by Ingrid Michaelson, but I’m not sure I’m wild about the clapping….still deciding.

my bridesmaids will walk down the aisle to ‘Beautiful Ones’  by Suede

I will walk down the aisle to ‘songbird’  by Eva Cassidy

during the signing there will be ‘if thats what it takes’ by Ceine Dion played (french version – i prefer it to the English version)

we will walk back down the aisle to ‘Over the Rainbow’  by Israel Kamakawiwo’ole.

and as its Turkey where we are getting married,  i think KISS KISS should be played somewhere!  LOL

@cleve_girl01:Loves it!!  What an awesome and original idea!!  My sisters and I would be the only ones that understood this reference.  We taped it on VHS off of PBS many moons ago and watched it every Christmas growing up.  Good times…

ugh I’m so confused as to what to play…esp, when we leave.  I want some upbeat music when we leave and not sure what to pick.

Getting some ideas from here though.  Great thread!  Keep them coming!

instrumental version of ‘when irish eyes are smiling’. Personal reasons.

As for the rest of it, I have no friggin clue. I might just let my brother (otherwise known as the violinist playing the music) pick whatever he wants.

As nothing about my wedding is “traditional” or normal and my FI and his groomens will be making their entrance to the “Throne Song” from Star Wars (which it took me a month to warm up to) and my bridesmaids and their daughters my flower girls will be walking down to bubble toes by Jack Johnson…which is going to lead into the Noble Piece version of Beautiful Mess by Jason Mraz…I am very lucky my best friend is a music whiz and can make this happen…it sounds weird when said out loud but sounds soooo good…and will be a suprise to every one!

@LessIsMoore:  I am using Death Cab for Cutie too!!! yay! that song is amazingly beautiful…

For walking down the aisle “Thank you” by Led Zepplin

then as we “kiss” the DJ will begin playing “Praise You” by fatboy slim and invite everyone up on stage to dance with us….

then later, our first slow dance after the Vow Renewal is “follow you into the dark”

My son will play my favorite song of his “nothing with you”… his lyrics are “laying around all day, there’s nothing to do, but thats OK… as long as I do, nothing with you”  (great now that song will be in my head all day)

So yea, I am planning on alot of surprises at my Vow Renewal, can’t wait:)
